ParticipantFrom experience, you can’t polish out Matt paint or use t-cut, if bird droppings are not removed quickly this can cause problems. This paint is very difficult to match up so you need a very good paint shop for any damages so yes you may need entire panels resprayed. A friend had the front end and wings wrapped in clear 3m film especially to help with potential repairs it was expensive to do this but cheaper than fixing any deep stone chips.
Personally I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

ParticipantYes they are here, if you’re coming down the A3 turn off at Tolworth and it’s a few minutes drive.

ParticipantHi Alex,
Two places I have used:
https://www.autofficina.co.uk Elias runs this place. Based in Tolworth so might be nearer for you just off the A3, if you book in here let me know as it’s 10 minutes from me.
http://www.scuderia.london Kabir knows these cars. In Chiswick but handy if you work in London as near the district line tube.
Best wishes

ParticipantI was in Ashbourne last week, a lovely part of the country. In the boot look in the battery compartment the switch is to the left of the battery or behind the battery if you are facing the car not the end near the rear light cluster.
The nearest indie to you are https://www.shiltechperformancecars.com based in Loughborough about 45 mins drive. If the reset does not work you can ask them to do a diagnostic check. These cars do like to be driven.

ParticipantSorry to hear about your problems, first of all do a battery reset and see if this clears any gremlins. Also how old is your battery as a weak one will cause havoc. If you have a tester see how many volts it give out.
Otherwise you will need a diagnostic check, if you go down this route let us know where you are geographically as there may be an independent garage nearby with the necessary diagnostics.

ParticipantI remember a friend had a canvas roof that shrunk a little bit, he used to put warm not hot towels that were slightly damp not wet across the roof. He warmed them up in a microwave.
I think the above is a temporary solution as there will always be shrinkage over time.
Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

ParticipantCongratulations on your purchase, the GT is beautiful car and sounds amazing to.

ParticipantGuessing you can’t make it now, really sorry to hear that.

ParticipantHave a look at this thread, I helped a friend remove his, took us 3 hours, it then went to the paint shop and we refitted it.

ParticipantPersonally I don’t have the time for posting on some of the social media sites. I have limited myself to a few that I use regularly.
The Facebook page is a good idea, however it really requires someone to take ownership and post regularly otherwise it will not get used very much if the content is always out of date.

ParticipantI also used to do a battery reset on my 3200 for all sorts of electronic issues, most of the time it solved these. I would also test your battery, our cars don’t behave well if the battery is on its way out.
If the issue still persists a diagnostic reader would be needed, however you can go to an indie and have it read first for about £80.00 if there is one near you.
Tony Jaskeran
ParticipantGlad to hear you located the issue and fixed it Frank also thanks for posting your observations. This should help other owners to fix or eliminate their own problems.

ParticipantNot aware of anyone doing this Lee other than having some instruction on the official track days. Might be worth asking around on Sunday at Brands Hatch.

ParticipantThanks, I’ve used Greg before and he has always been helpful.
Also David Askew can source and refurbish parts, he has refurbished a lot for me. http://www.davidaskew.co.uk.
