ParticipantFantastic news, I’ll tag this in case anyone else has the same question.

Participantgive Karl a call http://verdimaserati.co.uk, explain exactly what you are looking in terms of camera size and functionality. He’s done a few ad-hoc jobs for me & might be able to help.

ParticipantThis suggests to me, as you drive water is getting picked up somewhere. Have you checked your light clusters. Another option, remove as much as possible in the boot, disconnect the battery & ask someone to lightly spray the area outside around the petrol cap cover, rear light cluster and inner wheel arch with a hose and see if any water is coming inside.
My wife’s Ford had water in the spare wheel well for no apparent reason, after inspection there was a tiny rubber bung missing inside the boot above the real wheel arch. When I jet washed the inner arch water came in from there went along a ridge before ending up in the well it took me ages to trace this. Often water finds its own path.

ParticipantI’ve been through my files now & it was 15 years ago from Maranellos in Egham.

ParticipantMy memory is not so good but I do remember having to give them proof of owning the car. I sent a copy of the vehicle registration.
I also didn’t have the code for my radio but The Maserati Shed sorted this.

ParticipantI replaced them a few years back Lee, but had to wait a few months as it was to order.

ParticipantThat’s great news, where did you purchase the transponder & programmer from.
Tony Jaskeran
ParticipantI grew up with those Volvo ads saying the average life span of their car was 19.7 years. Amazing this was over 30 years ago. We need this type of longevity to reduce and reuse.
The car manufacturers can focus on spares so there will be a good revenue stream for profitability.
Maserati might even support their older cars to (fingers crossed)

ParticipantI’ve checked my files, you used to be able to you a Fiat transponder and then validate with the ECU.
Contact Myles at Emblem as they use to be able to get hold of these Fiat transponders.
Tony Jaskeran
ParticipantYes you can but can’t remember where, it will need reprogramming to the ECU. I’ll see if I have any information in my files this weekend.

Participant100% agree, we must look at the whole supply chain and make sure that green is exactly that, I really worry about used batteries, and also we are still using more raw materials to make new cars. There must be a way to reuse more of what we throw away.
The saving in manufacturing cost and the subsequent emissions must be significant.
Tony Jaskeran
ParticipantThis a very complex area, on the one hand we want everyone to be greener and use less resources. However we still don’t know what this means, are we just shifting the goal posts.
I think there will shifts in lots of different directions before they agree on what is going to work and E10 is an example.
Even if the E10 fuel is less efficient now with technology evolution this will improve, after all in the 1970s no one would have believed you could get 70+mpg.

ParticipantThats great news David, yes you need to be very flexible and patient. On my GS you have to be very nimble as the F1 pump relay is above battery and out of sight.
Happy motoring and a job well done.

ParticipantHi David, as a start I would put the battery on charge either a trickle or standard battery tender. Once you are sure its keeping a charge & full use a battery tester to confirm the case.
Then do a battery re-set, if you car is the later version you can use the battery cut off switch otherwise it will be a manual disconnection from the terminals. Leave for 30 minutes and reattach and let the car sit for about 5 minutes before turning over. If its starts then let it run for about 5 minutes before checking the electrics.
If this does not work then you need to hook up to diagnostics.
Let us know how you get on.
I had a 3200 for 10 years and had to do this more than once, generally if the battery goes flat it effects many of the electrics. So you might have to attempt the reset a few times.
