As Chris says Eurospares is the way to go for the wheel inserts. 3 different types from £20-£35 for a set of 4, so not too bad.

Jut to end this little saga…

I did get the £1 put back on the card when the processes that checked my ‘South American River’ transaction had been declined realised no money had been taken (took about a week for the £1 to be automatically reinstated), and I have since used the card to buy £50 of petrol!

    Success!

yes, a little more ‘relaxed’ than the later one (‘fortississimo’!), but still ‘forte’ on the loud pedal!

I spoke to Mary last night (she was at the dinner we had last night before today’s Club Concours), and she says there are spaces available, so just send your completed form off to her and you are in!

    Hi Lee,

    Welcome to the Club!

Look forward to meeting you and your QPV sometime.

I am sure there are still places for the Maseratis & Margaritas event, but if you want just email the Organiser, Mary Pole (email address is in the booking form you can download on the Event page) I am sure she will confirm there are spaces left.

Normally a great do at Bob’s house so you will enjoy it!

    Hi Henry,

    Avoid ‘Drum & bass’!!

To be honest, just go along to a decent Car Audio specialist, and they should be able to replace the speaker for you, no doubt with something better than the original Maserati supplied part.

Eurospares have a used one for £58, if you want to so it yourself you may need to fold up the rear seats (the rear seat bases pull up towards the front seats), to take the seat backs back to access.

Indeed, a great weekend for a nice drive…. We did!

Apologies for not being quick enough to get an image of your GranSport. By the time I got the camera out I think you had left! Too busy gassing the wife says…

The flask is a good idea!

It was a good morning out!

The only slight downside is that with a large number of people attending, the cafe was a little overwhelmed.

    John,

Just to reiterate, there is nothing wrong with the Pirelli side at all. The process of applying for and receiving the card was absolutely fine, the only issue is, if you use it for fuel (effectively what Pirelli want you to use it for) then it is about ensuring you either fill up to the exact amount of the card, or, if you fill up with more, then to ensure the filling station can ‘split’ the transaction – which my local Shell station could not do for some reason.

Best really to just fill up to the exact amount on the card.

Using the card for other online transactions is fine, but you just need to be aware of the ‘authorisation’ charge that the card processors may impose.

Again, from Pirelli’s perspective, they do call the scheme a ‘Fuel gift card’ offer, so, use it for that, with the above caveat in mind, and all will be good!

Finally got to the bottom of the ‘South American River’ £1 charge!

By delving deep into their (un)Help(ful) pages, I finally came across the following if you use a pre-paid card:

There’s a £1 authorisation at the time of order to make sure the payment method is valid. This authorisation isn’t a charge, but banks may hold the authorised funds as unavailable until the authorisation expires. “

Apparently, I will get the £1 back at some point.

Just a bit silly when you have a £50 card, and expect to use the full £50!

Anyway, learnt much about these pre-paid cards now!
