I am going to try and get hold of the Chairman tomorrow
I have asked Graham Wood for the procedure for committee nomination and election etc.
If there was a committee member tasked to review the present and also review “change” to put forward suggestions for membership vote / adoption including allowing anonymous returns or all held “in camera” I would be up for that or perhaps it has to be done by gearing Elected then expression and influencing at Committee Meetings (too slow?)
Anyway will ring the Chairman

ParticipantI have just deleted a very very long contribution agreeing with Lee Moore on many points with personal and other member examples of the points made and suggestions for change but decided it was not the correct way to comment yet . I am now intending to ring the Chairman as the offer has been made above.
I am an active member of two other clubs one car, one bike and they are sovery different– I do believe there are reasons for this and valuable discussions to be held to improve the Club.
Tradition is a true and valuable part of society( and de facto a Club) but so is Change- Over the last 8 years I joined and left and then rejoined in the interim I would suggest very little has really changed.

ParticipantWell now
The social media side I have mixed views on how this should progress but on the paragraph starting “I have also heard it suggested….” I AGREE
I am not elaborating presently here other than than to say if there was a general or specific number of members agreeing with the sentiments expressed then one should try to effect change.
I would be one of them.

ParticipantWas answering another forum item and saw your question.
I took delivery of a new 2018 GranTurismo last July and the the day I took delivery it went home straight on a ramp in my village garage and we spent the rest of the day carefully going over inside outside etc with Bilthammer clear wax for inside and outside.
I ordered it direct from Bilthammer and it arrived overnight in 5 pretty large spray cans with long plastic extension tubes to get in everywhere. Very controllable and able to spray carefully where you need to or wide spray if large area. Put a tarpaulin down and left it overnight for any overspray to drip off . As well as the body shell and box sections we did all the nuts bolts in fact everything that I know in a few years time I know I will be glad I took the car and trouble.
I did the same to my QP in 2006 and all I can say is its well worth it if you intend to keep the car.
Cant comment if its the best wax to use but has and is doing me well enough.
I go over my cars once a year to respray any dried or cracked etc bits as a top up.

ParticipantJust got the May newsletter and thanks for the work on the layout update.
I tried counting the number of cars in the Anorak Question and it all depends on whether you include all the visible Maseratis in the Silverstone Classic picture. Quite cleverly annoyingly sneaky with a simultaneous grin ? Anyway i emailed in my answer but couldn’t get the same number each time I counted ! Hopefully you will put the answer in the next issue?
Thanks for the layout update

ParticipantGlad I wasn’t the only one- I will hope that the next issue has a larger font size and more contrasting layout in those problem areas as its a shame as a lot of effort will have gone into the new layout
