ParticipantHi everyone – I’m new – Anthony 🙂
I am having difficulty getting a straight answer from the garages regarding the most suitable Under body protection for my car.
The cars a Maserati Quattroporte 2016.

ParticipantHi Anthony,
On my Gransport I have Dinitrol, many years ago most people had Waxoyl which is very good but it has to be redone but not as often as Dinitrol.
Best wishes
Tony

ParticipantThanks Tony – those are the two that have been mentioned and Dinitrol seems favorite.
Thanks for your help Tony 🙂

ParticipantHi Anthony and welcome to the Club.
I get the 3200 Waxoyled every 2-3 years, and that seems to do the trick. If you are doing it yourself then Dinitrol is probably the easier option. There is probably not a lot in it, only as Tony says if using Dinitrol you will probably have to do it every year.
Best wishes,
Graham

ParticipantThanks Graham
That’s exactly what I am finding it is about 50/50 between Dinitrol and Waxoyl!!
I guess it will boil down to which provider is closest to me
Thanks
Anthony 🙂

ParticipantI think you are probably right!
Both products do the job, really a question of finding someone who will do the job well.

Actually I have found someone in Warrington. They will collect and return the car and have suggested, because the car is relatively
new and of low mileage – 8,000 miles, that Mercasol is the right product. It has a 3 year guarantee the same as Dinitrol and Waxoyl.
Thanks again Graham

ParticipantHi Anthony,
How did you get on?
As a matter of interest was the company you used part of a chain or a ‘one off’?

ParticipantHi Graham
The web site is http://www.car-paint-protection.co.uk
Contact Paul Grundy – did a good job as far as I know – collected the car in the morning and returned it in the afternoon.
I think I found them through a Google search for waxoyl
Regards
Anthony 🙂

ParticipantThanks Anthony.
I see they are country-wide.
May give them a go, as the last time I had it done was a little more expensive than them.

ParticipantWas answering another forum  item and saw your question.
I took delivery of a new 2018 GranTurismo last July  and the the day I took delivery it went home straight on a ramp in my village garage and we spent the rest of the day  carefully going over inside outside etc with Bilthammer clear wax for inside and outside.
I ordered it direct from Bilthammer and it arrived overnight in 5 pretty large spray cans with long plastic extension tubes to get in everywhere. Very controllable and able to spray carefully where you need to or wide spray if large area. Put a tarpaulin down and left it overnight for any overspray to drip off .  As well as the body shell and box sections we did  all the nuts bolts in fact everything that I know in a few years time I know I will be glad I took the car and trouble.
I did the same to my QP in 2006 and all I can say is its well worth it if you intend to keep the car.
Cant comment if its the best wax to use but has and is doing me well enough.
I go over my cars once a year to respray any dried or cracked etc bits as a top up.
