I have had a number of dash lights appear and when using the APU200 fault scanner – it pointed towards a faulty Right Wheel Acceleration Sensor and I also needed an annual service. I had already had a major service 15 months prior elsewhere. I had previously used another local Maserati Specialist who had suddenly restructured the way in which they delivered their servicing which increased the pricing significantly. Even by Maserati costings, the increases were unjustified in my opinion.

I then searched within Cheshire and Staffordshire (live near to the Staffs border) for another independent. I then found Stradale Italia and the reviews seemed very strong and positive. I contacted Sam Hill and it was immediately clear he knew his stuff and stated that the dash light fault might not be the acceleration sensor as the wheel bearing can also cause the same error codes. The annual servicing cost was £749 which was fair. Once I had dropped the car off, he went through my car and highlighted a few issues:

Driver’s Side wheel bearing

Broken Front Spring

Needed a new off side drop link and exhaust clamps

He also said that the usually areas on Granturismos/Grancabios were in excellent condition on my car – front sub frame etc

What I liked is that they offered approved, warranted, reconditioned parts as well as the new parts and he generally had a good availability of Maserati parts. In conclusion, I just got a good feeling that they weren’t wanting to ’empty my bank account where possible’ like the previous independent – JHM Automotive. They want to provide a good service and want people to return with confidence.

Hi Kurt,

I am going to go back to the company who are more than keen to get the matter sorted.

The company said that the hood needed to stretch over the frame and I had to wait a minimum of 7 days before using the hood.

I have found another site called Autodoc and they have a ‘hook fitting’. If this doesn’t work, I will have to order from Scuderia
