This probably isn’t worth posting as you will have looked already but but you can apparently get them to order from Scuderia parts PART NUMBER: 387700300.Horrible price !

But– insurance paying? You will have looked at Ebay  and there is one with  crack in Uk but I could see one in Germany on Ebay apparently in good condition.

Maranello Classic Parts in Egham ( mainly Ferrari but they can get Maserati) list it in their parts list.

Also i guess you looked at Eurospares

I just looked on Eurospares and Scuderia parts and the 3 litre diesel engine has a timing CHAIN (part no 46341482) about £65 from these suppliers more like £95 retail BUT its the fitting that costs . I cant imaging you need to change it at 50K — but the independent or dealer should advise– the accessory belts for various pumps should get checked and advised on condition. I dont know the Ghibli diesel service schedule but they might do these accessory  automatically – but you can see this in the servicing info/schedule  for the car. With these things the parts aren’t bad but the labour rate especially at dealers causes the headache.

Why does this not excite me? My neighbour has just taken delivery of a Taycan and all I hear is funny whirring when he goes in and out. It seems very soulless. Guess I am not attuned to the future.

I dont think webuyanycar is necessarily the best indicator for GC and GT. The prices showing on  Pistonheads website seem to show the market retail prices pretty well. There were 57 cars there today.I have been watching 2016-2020 GT and GC and they are really high. Stradale GT cars have also hardened alot. I know  main dealers are offering seriously good outright sale and trade in prices to get cars. It would be nice to think it had something to do with the “last of the normally aspirated V8 “ story and not just chip shortage.

I emailed Maserati Customer Services some weeks back asking for guidance for both older and newer models .  The reply was pretty ….. trying to think of the right word. Basically it was “consult the handbook for your car “ and “ask your dealer”. I replied back and noted they didn’t really answer the question and also said nothing about older models . The reply to the second email was also pretty “lacking”.

The best place to look for guidance  at the moment is the FBHVC Press Releases that have come out over the last weeks with the latest on 2/9/21 .

Re-assuring – must see if they have done the Euro NCAP test yet !

What was battery voltage with multimeter? 12.4 to 12.6 is normal 12.2 volts could be 50% discharged and heading for or in trouble- 12v you prob will be in trouble ! Not the right way to do it i Know it but indicative.

Clicking can be the starter motor not getting enough juice or earth problems.

Did you try jumping with another battery in parallel?

First thing is to charge the battery right up and or jump leads and see what happens. Remember with jump leads leave a little while for batteries to “communicate”.

And what would you put behind the seats apart from squeezing in a copy of Trident magazine ? Under the front bonnet you might be lucky and get in in a blanket and thermos for a cold winter day?

There really is very little room/storage  anywhere apart from literally the “cockpit” area 2 seats.

in reply to: Carrs have lost their franchise #15706

Bit like Lovetts at Swindon I used for years.  If you live in Cornwall now your nearest franchised dealer is either Birmingham or Egham !!! Its a long long way to go for sales and servicing ! With Swindon going, Exeter going, Colchester going , Meridien in Hampshire loosing Sales some time ago the dealer network is getting quite limited– and you couple this with customer services at Maserati GB now being an email or phone call to Italy and no Slough anymore  its quite difficult for some Maserati owners with cars under warranty.

Thats about 15 minutes drive for me- presume its the breakfast meeting- I just got out of hospital after open monday  and cant go anywhere for a little while. Am planning to go to Hampton Court Sept 4th  . Not sure who’s going where with the clash on Sept 4th as everyone bound to be split up between the two.

If you like big Healeys you have to pass D Rawles on the way to Alton between Farnham and Bentley where there is always a good lot to look at.

I took aload of photos but really nothing that you haven’t seen on the internet especially as the car is the same blue one that was at Goodwood.

Digressing a little- There is a Brooklands Auto Italia day as well in October – I have never been . Anyone been before and any views. Must be more limited than Brands but could be more trade stuff.

in reply to: Front number plate holder #15337

    Graham

I checked again and the part number that David quoted is ONLY for a specific 2013 model according to  a friend who I got to ring his local dealer in Italy. He lives about 15 miles from Modena . (Very popular with me !)

The mystery deepens but it looks all wrong to me and completely wrong shape and fittings for the 2015 year let alone later cars.

So- we await a reply to see if the plate marries up to the holder !

in reply to: Front number plate holder #15334

I think its me — but this is nothing like the front number plate holder on my Gran Turismo. I have a post facelift 2018 car and the plate holder is part 89175700 –or some have been  just been fitted without any official part -apart from the dealers number plate black backing plate straight onto the car.

I assume your car is a 2013 car otherwise it could be the wrong part — but also quite honestly I dont know how that fits — but do let me know you have the right part as I have an inckling that part maybe for a specific year and model.
