ParticipantI assume we are discussing Modena and not the other sites.
I have done it multiple times including twice on day trips from LHR. With lunch or… in the old main square and a visit to Panini to see the gems there as well –on the same day —it’s a good day out and way to spend a day in ones’ life.
I doubt whether they are running visits at the moment as MC20 continuous production there stopped many months ago due to low demand.
You can email or ring Maserati in Italy direct and ask . Contact details (email and phone) are on the maserati.com website and they pick up / reply pretty quickly normally.

Irrespective of this particular issue it would be good to have a couple of OBD11 positioned in the south and north for general member use together with a few more of the specialist tools for that matter.
In my BSA motorbike club area (Thames Valley) we have a central store of the specialist tools for the bikes which members borrow when doing specialist work. All old bikes but the principle is the same.
Its the same in my Dutch Club -divided up into four areas each with hub pullers, clutch centralising, and much more including OBD1 and OBD 11 which get more use and popularity each year. We bought “good” ones at abit more £££ price which in hindsight was tdefinitely the right think to do and with manufacturer specific software.

ParticipantYears ago I had a Citroen CX 2.5 GTI and then a BX and the spheres on that you loosened max a quarter of a turn with engine off and then wait for the system to depressurise before removing the spheres by turning anti-clockwise. This doesn’t answer your question but its the nearest I can get to help.

ParticipantMy GT and GT before and QP and another QP before that have all been with Lockton who lets face it aren’t the cheapest. I have it in a two car policy and the main attraction is the track cover at no extra cost – this is not for the GT but the other which i use on track so for me its worth the premium. Interestingly the thing I noticed most (as I do check others )was a general reluctance to insure GTs’ and some rather big price hikes from some of the “direct” insurers and those who use comparative websites. with 10 years plus NCD some were hiking up 250-400 extra on last year. I know there has benn some RRover and Porsche panamera and 911 reluctance so we now add GT. I would say you got a pretty good price at £458!

ParticipantWould i be correct in thinking that you have to have disconnected the battery for at least an hour or more for a full reset of everything.I had this problem last year on GT and was told by a dealer to do a hard reset by disconnecting and “leaving it a few hours” before reconnecting. If it didn’t work then they would look at it.
In my case the problem was solved ( no wood car me ).

Participanthttps://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2023-Sport-Auto-Winter-Tyre-Test.htm
There are a number of winter tests tyre here (on the right of there page)
Prices – http://www.tyreleader.co.uk tend to be cheap and normally worth paying to get fitted or at least as a price marker.

ParticipantSame with the Trident badge on the side at the back up high- I have finally got one but it was on back order for 5 months . I think it was because it was black instead of normal silver colour. Also lambda sondes are on back order !

ParticipantMy GT premium quotes online and then by phone went up dramatically this year apart from Locktons for some unknown reason. Nothing on my side had changed. i asked obviously but got some general rubbish about inflation etc. I have a second car at the same time which hardly changed so I can only conclude there has been some significant claims on the cars in the last 12 months.
I stayed with Locktons

ParticipantThere is an independent called JR Motors in York who are Maserati people. i am not endorsing them but it could be worth a phone call to see what they say and whether they can do the diagnostics. I have an older BMW from 1987 as well and can’t go near a dealer with it as they just dont know what to do as everything now is if in doubt just change as long as you can get it- which lets face it is easier with BM than Maserati !.
