Hi Tony, my local engineer/mechanic has phoned around but these parts are no longer in stock. He said that an Alfa 166 part number 60658342 could work. I also had a look at the Superformance website (they advertise in the club magazine) and they say the part 82487457 is on back order. Any further thoughts on getting through this? Maurice

Thank you both for your advice. It seems like shifting to neutral when stationery is a sensible way to go. As for driving in ‘sport’ mode all the time, it is true the shift is slightly quicker, but I also find it less smooth, which is why I tend to drive in ‘normal’ mode much of the time. My model is a standard cambiorcosca although the 2005 refresh.

I have made a few enquiries of dealers / specialists, and sadly they have no solution. Even if re-mapping is possible, I cannot face having to argue this with HMG! The car is better off not having to be driven in London in any event….
