Spyder roof problems

Hi all.

I have a problem with my 4200 Spyder roof. I bought the car brand new in March 2002.( nearly 20 years ago !!) and only 19,000 miles.

There is no power going to the roof at all, i.e. press the switch and nothing happens.

Is there a fuse somewhere, other than under the passenger floor and in the boot ??

You could check all the fuses in the battery compartment, also it could be a relay. Give them all a push as one could have come loose.

Battery reset is another option.

Try with the car running also, otherwise it might need a specialist to look at it.

ive checked the boot fuses. All ok. So I will try the battery reset.

Hi,

I have a 2002 Spyder Cambiocorsa. During the heatwave at the end of May (2026) I decided to open the roof.
with engine running I pressed the button and the roof started opening as usual but then it stopped half way with the tonneau panel up and the front of the roof about level with the top of the tonneau. I happened to be at Graypaul Birmingham so I asked them to fix it. They had it a couple of days then reported that the fuse had blown twice during the opening cycle. They thought it might be due to a motor problem but gave up saying that they could no longer get the parts. Does anyone recommend someone who can fix this problem for me?

The engineers have sourced a wiring diagram ( probably from the same place) it’s taking a bit of time but they are doing it in idle moments between fixing Ferraris and Lambos in an effort to keep the cost down.

Good new Robert,

I think that’s the best approach especially when we don’t use our cars regularly. It can save a fair bit of cash.

Fingers crossed this gets resolved.
