ParticipantHi All,
My Maserati is coming to the end of its manufacture warranty after 3 years. I am looking to extend the warranty and have received a quote direct from the Maserati dealership I originally purchased my vehicle from. The cost for this I feel is a little extortionate.
I was just wondering and wanted to reach to the club members if anyone knows of a reliable independent Maserati extended warranty provider or has any information in relation this matter
My Maserati is a 2014 GrandTourismo MC Stradale with approx 8000 miles
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Sanjay

ParticipantHi Sanja,
My view is to get a comparison quote from say https://www.warrantydirect.co.uk/maserati-extended-warranty.html so you can compare & see if it’s good value for money.
Im not surprised that the cost will be high, after all you would not expect any major repairs in the early years, however as the car ages there will inevitably be wear and tear items which can cost a considerable amount so the commercial chaps at Maserati would have factored this in.
If the car is a keeper, then why not start taking it to one of the known specialists and save the warranty cost as a slush fund. I budget £3000 per year for mine, some years it’s more and some like the last two it’s been only a few hundred for service and maintenance.
In my experience as these cars get older the majors don’t have the necessary knowledge like the indies so this is something else to consider.
Finally you can always try and negotiate a discount if you’ve been a loyal customer with the dealership.
Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes.
Tony

ParticipantHi Tony,
Many thanks for you your detailed response.
I agree with what your are saying and although not 100% sure yet I am leaning towards keeping it as i have only had it 3 years an run 8k miles. I am abroad most time so mileage and usage will be low.
Just put of interest do you know of or can you recommend any reputable specialist around the North West London area ?
Thanks again for your input much appreciated

ParticipantNo problem Sanyaj,
Not sure whereabouts in NW London you are and how far you can travel, I actually take mine to Fareham in Hampshire from Kingston.
http://www.joemacari.com although a main dealer I know they often try to price match an indie, otherwise be aware of their labour rates.
http://gvelondon.com has been used and although a bit pricey cheaper then main dealers. The chap who runs this place http://www.avengineeringltd.com used to work there and is well respected, he decided to work for himself.
http://www.giallo.co.uk/ I’ve used them a few times and although they are in Kent they will pickup/drop off from your home or from the local station. Very popular with many owners in London and SE they also sell Maseratis.
http://www.grimaldiengineering.co.uk/contact.asp might be a bit far from you but again another well know and respected specialist.
http://www.mcgrathmaserati.co.uk/services/ although they do full restorations they also look after modern cars to, however like Emblem in Poole they are always booked up months in advance.
For your needs I would recommend giving Sharon and Matthew a call at Giallo first and talking over what you need. I regularly meet up with Owners in Kent and they all go here.
If you were selling up then any of the above stamps in your book would be recognised.
Best wishes
Tony

ParticipantHi Tony,
Thanks again for all the info really appreciate you taking the tine to provide all this material and information.
I was trolling through Google and came across the likes of Giallo and McGraph Maserati so its good to see these listed and the fact you have used Giallo and are happy to recommend gives me more confidence
I am happy to travel a bit far out as long as the service and care is up to standard
i also came across this place based in London Westfield shopping complex in Shepherd’s Bush http://www.nuvolalondon.com/Obviously not used them but may use to to anyone that may come across this thread. They seem to have a good setup from the way they have taken time to setup their website , but don`t just use that as a reference
Tony, you have been a great help i have that I will keep my Masarati and not go for the warranty but put the cost of the warranty aside for any issues ( hopefully no issues) Just for the record this what I was quoted by Maranello Masarati in Egham
12 month full warranty extension – £2424.00 incl VAT
24 month full warranty extension – £3384.00 incl VATJust wanted to share this and see how it compares to anyone else who may have taken out a extended warranty
Thanks Tony, hopefully I can return the favor someday
Cheers

ParticipantHi Sanjay,
Nuvola are an indie Maserati dealer, Nareman who owns this outfit is very well respected and trustworthy. He uses Giallo for his servicing and inspection.
You are in good hands if you buy from him, in the North richardgracecars is the place to go. Nuvola will also sell a car on your behalf and I know many happy people with this service.
At the moment car sales are generally slow especially at this time of the year.
Me personally, if I was planning to sell within two years I would take up the 24 month warranty as this would give a prospective buyer some confidence with any potential large bills. Otherwise get to know one of the indies and save the warranty cost.
You are very welcome and wishing you many happy miles ahead.
