<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi!  Great to join the club, hoping you folks can help me out with some recommendations or even an itinerary.  My son and I are planning a trip in the summer to attend the Austrian GP then work our way down to Monaco over about 5 days in our newly acquired Crancabrio Sport.  If any of you have made that trip (or one similar) would love your recommendations, roads, hotels, must see’s etc.  Thanks!</p>

That sounds like a wonderful drive, hopefully someone will have some routes for you. The Austrian GP is one of the few tracks I’ve not been to yet. Have a great time.

Sounds brilliant, and a nice length of time to enjoy the trip.

We took our 3200 to Seefield in (west) Austria for the Maserati International Rally back in 2011 and did the drive from Calais to Seefield in one day – I would not recommend that as it meant a lot of ‘Autobahn’ bashing – 720 miles!

We have not done it, but many can advise on it – the Stelvio Pass would not be too much of a detour en route from Graz to Monaco, and that would then take you on a nice route down past the Lakes, Monza and on to Genoa (lovely city) and then along the coast to Monaco.

Another option after Stelvio is spending a couple of days enjoying Emilia Romagna, taking in Maserati heritage at the brilliant Panini Motor Museum (http://www.paninimotormuseum.it/) and buying some of the Hombre parmesan (the best you’ll ever taste).

Bologna is then well worth a visit, and you can see the original inspiration for the Trident in the Piazza del Nettuno.

I suppose it all depends on what you want out of the trip, and everyone will have a different view.

Thanks so much for the help.

So here’s the plan 🙂  I work in Amsterdam so day 1 we’ll start there stopping somewhere south of Frankfurt (tbd) then on to Salzburg and Graz.  Watch Lewis win the GP then on to Innsbruck, Stelvio, Grindlewald, Chamonix and Monaco.  10 days in total then a couple of days to get home.  Will be a great adventure I hope, planning to take some pictures write a piece for the magazine and share…think top gear meets men behaving (not very) badly 😉

    Thanks all

    Chris

Have a great trip, and yes, an article for Trident would be excellent!
