With sunny spells and a temperature of 23 degrees the day was set to be a fine out on the track.
After signing on, participating club members then had lunch in the excellent circuit restaurant before the safety briefing.
Each member was then paired up with another member and a very experienced Senior Police, ARDS and Instructor level personnel drawn from the IAM RoadSmart roster.

We started with a ‘parade’ lap ending at the start/finish line for a photo op, then back into the pit lane and the parking area to meet our instructors. The process being 5 lap sessions alternated between the members giving the cars (and drivers) a chance to ‘rest’ between each session.
The fastest part of the circuit had 2 additional cone chicanes to keep the speed down, as the primary objective was control and smoothness and how best to approach the different challenges of the circuit.
The instructors were excellent at gauging participants abilities, and ensuring all got the best out of their cars. Everyone who took part felt their skills improve over the afternoon and at the end of the sessions 16 members signed up for the discounted IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving course.
To the White Hart in nearby Stockbridge for the evening meal, all reliving the great experiences of the day and very much looking forward to a repeat event next year.
Our thanks to David Daw for organising an great opportunity to exercise our cars in a fun, fast and safe way.
