Dear Member,
Following the annual general meeting yesterday I wanted to update you on some of the changes in the administration of the club, John Bennett steps down after 4 years as chairman. At the Christmas lunch we hope to be able to present him with a memento of our appreciation for his outstanding contribution and commitment. I take over as chairman, big shoes to fill, but I have a brilliant committee to support me.
Jerry Hutton our ex-treasurer comes back on the board as Secretary. Simon Park who’s done an excellent job editing the Trident magazine for the past 5 years, steps down and Andy Heywood is welcomed back on the committee in his old role as editor. All other committee members were re-elected in their existing roles. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee in anticipation of their continuing support in the coming year.
The lockdown has improved our non face to face communication skills and as normality resumes, I hope these skills will not be forgotten. In particular I refer to our website (maseraticlub.co.uk) which has been a tremendous source of communication for club members thanks to Graham Wood our webmaster for putting so much information on the site. For example, go to the resources section and see the history of the club from 1972 to the present day or go to the forum section and join in the conversation. If during the lockdown you have been clearing out your garage and discovered Maserati parts from long sold models then why not sell them on the web site, go to Market – Classified Advertisements. If you have any problems logging on to the site or finding what you are looking for then contact Graham Wood at [email protected].
However the key to finding what is going on in the club is the events page, some events sell out within hours of going live, so it’s not sufficient to wait for the newsletter to find out what’s happening.
Although I have been a member for 23 years I know there are many members I have yet to meet and I look forward to that opportunity.
