The Silverstone Classic was held on the 28/29/30 July and was a great success. Plenty to see and do with Car Club stands, motor racing shops, vintage fairground, historic motor racing and evening music. I think the weather can only be described as typical Silverstone with quite a heavy downpour on Saturday evening.
A good selection of Maseratis were racing; 2 x 250F’s, the Tec-Mec, T61, 300S, 250S and a Cooper-Maserati.
Thanks must go to our Organiser Edwin Faulkner and Anna de Luca of Maserati NE for generously letting us use their hospitality unit and thanks also to Jo and Daniel of Tebay and Andy and James from Vipex for their help.
Our Club Stand was its usual immaculate self with marshalling skilfully done by Edwin and Keith Davies. Maseratis in the Club area were 18 on Friday, 36 on Saturday and 49 on Sunday. Many Maseratis took part in the Sunday track parade
and another popular exhibit were the three Maserati motor bikes in our display.
The best “noise of the weekend” goes to the track demonstration by the Williams FW14B.
