Maserati Club Concours 2019, Sponsored by Lockton Performance

← Back to News

11 cars entered this year’s concours but although short of quantity we were certainly not short of quality.

Thankfully after Saturday’s rain the sun shone as cars arrived for parking in the east courtyard at Blenheim Palace. There were no entries in Class 1 this year (come on you classic owners) but  the cars in the other classes were very well presented which made the judges job of deciding the winners difficult. In fact at one time we thought they had done a runner, but were eventually found deliberating in the cafe!

Deliberating completed, Michael O’Shea was able to declare the results and our President Sir Drummond Bone and Sponsor’s representative David Hamer presented the awards to the winners, which were as follows:

Class 2 went to the beautiful blue Merak SS of Nigel Mason

the Class 3 winner was the lovely Red Karif of Marios Kriticos

Class 4 went to the Azzurro Argentina 3200 GT of Graham Wood

The sponsors choice award went to a long standing member John Betteridge with his Gransport (award collected on his behalf by Andy Heywood) and the overall winner was very surprised Simon Park and his lovely 3.2 QPIV EVO finished in the beautiful  colour of Rosso Indianapolis.

My  thanks go to all of the Judges , Bob Amato, Helen Miles and Keith Hudson who did a sterling job on the day, to Sarah O’Shea and my wife Joanne for taking care of members parking and a special thanks to our sponsors Lockton Performance Insurance who’s long association with this event is very much appreciated.

All that’s left to be said is come on you classic owners start getting your cars ready for a day by the Thames next year, or do we have to declare the 3200 GT as the new classic Maserati?
