It was November 2014 when the Maserati Club UK created and implemented a motor insurance scheme for its members. We were asked to develop a scheme that provided members access to a quality insurance product at a competitive premium.
Since the beginning, over 120 members have taken out their motor insurance under the scheme and each month more members join. So why do members choose to buy their motor insurance with us? It is simple. We have an excellent product, exceptional service, all delivered at a competitive premium. Clearly, the premium you pay is important but so is the scope of the policy cover and, perhaps most importantly, how we handle claims.
To continue this success we have undertaken a major review of your scheme. We have made a number of improvements, including:
- Comprehensive cover for you and your spouse to drive any car not owned by you. Most policies only provide Third Party Liability insurance protection, so if you have an accident driving a friend’s car no cover is in place for the damage, which is not only embarrassing but potentially costly.
- Anyone over 35 can drive your car, and you are in control of who drives it. Most policies require you to name the people who are going to drive your car, which can be particularly inconvenient if it is a spur of the moment decision. Under-35s can be insured on a named and approved basis.
- Even if you own a number of cars, our policy will still provide you with a courtesy car if your car suffers damage in an accident and is un-driveable – irrespective of who caused the accident.
- Club organised track days and non-competitive road rallies are great ways to enjoy your Maserati, but most motor insurers exclude all cover when you are on a track. However, our scheme will include damage to your vehicle, subject to you paying the first 10% of its value. We even provide third party liability cover of £2m for injury or damage. - We will replace your car if it is written off or stolen, within 24 months from the date of purchase. This removes the risk of receiving a cash settlement that is insufficient to replace your car.
Our improved scheme is now covered by AXA XL, a global insurance company who will insure the Maserati Club UK car insurance scheme moving forward. All these improvements are subject to your individual circumstances and the underwriting information you provide. However, I am confident that these extensions and improvements will be available to the majority of Maserati Club UK Members who insure under the Lockton Performance scheme.
We all know that the amount of premium you pay is an important factor in deciding where you buy your car insurance, so I am delighted to announce that we have negotiated a premium freeze for our existing customers. This means that if your policy renews after the 7th December 2019, and there is no change to the original underwriting information we will renew it at the same premium you paid at your last renewal.
