“Every year Old Wykehamists, Friends, parents, and special guests are invited to Winchester Match. This event is our annual open day featuring exhibition matches in cricket, rackets and tennis, music from the classical, jazz and modern music ensembles, and various displays, stalls and activities.
In 2019, classic cars have been invited to take centre stage, and we seek your participation to make a display of some of the finest examples from each major Italian automobile brand. A group of students will judge entrants to determine the most elegant car within several classes.
Winchester College is fortunate to have some very attractive grounds and the cars will be displayed on the lawns with historic buildings as a backdrop. As one of the UK’s leading public boarding schools, our student body is made up of 673 boys of more than 22 nationalities, many of whom have parents who will make a special effort to attend from overseas.
A key ambition for the day is to raise money for worthy causes, so we would invite you to contribute as you see fit, perhaps by offering a 10-minute ride around Winchester in your car as a raffle prize or simply buying some items from one of the many stalls selling a variety of appealing products.
