Portmeirion is a good place to make the most of the great driving roads in North Wales. Snowdonia is very scenic and Portmeirion is an attraction in its own right, a unique village of Italianate architecture in a lovely setting on the estuary, and famous from The Prisoner TV series.
The area has steam railways, gardens and castles. There will be some free time to explore these, enjoy the roads, or just soak up the atmosphere of the village and hotel (which has a spa).
We have reserved all the accommodation at Portmeirion for the weekend. Some of it is in the hotel, most is in suites in the varied and very characterful cottages in the village. Meals will be in the hotel. All the cottages are a short walk from the hotel but there is also a shuttle minibus. Parking will be right next to the accommodation.
