ParticipantFrom a Maserati perspective my guess is two fold.
1. Costs, as it’s a very tough market and they came to diesel very late and sales are falling across that board. Also targets for predicted sales must be well below expectations so need to save the pennies.
2. I wonder if there are delays with any new models, with so much research and development needed for hybrid and electric vehicles they could behind the big manufacturers with milestones and don’t have anything to announce.
Its a bit worrying, I’d like a new model so have been waiting for a replacement for my Gransport, the GT and Ghibli are too big for my garage and London driving.
Btw I’ll be at the London Classic Car show this year.

ParticipantNot aware if this can be changed, my suggestion is to give you local dealer a call. If the dealer says it can, post up a how to please.

ParticipantCan you confirm with the replacement yu checked the actuator and the micro switch as thats the only other areas i can think of for now.
I say this because it seems you have the same issue after replacing the regulator.

ParticipantMine has been waxolyed, I’ve also used dinitrol in the past. This is really is a must for our cars & needs to be done about every 3 years depending on how it’s stored or at least monitored.
Mine is in a heated and ventilated garage, obviously if you are in a damp or salty climate then it requires regular checking.
Some older cars are having horrendous problems with subframes rotting due to a lack of treatment.

ParticipantHi Carlton, welcome, I had one for about 12 years, still miss it. Sorry I’ve been quite busy in London today hence only reading this now.
This could be a number of things, I’m finding it a bit difficult to understand all the symptoms.
Is this problem erratic, as you mention it also runs fine.
Assuming its erratic first thing to do is get the car to a diagnostic reader so the stored error codes can be viewed. Where are you geographically.
My first thought is the throttle body, then potentiometer, have you tried a throttle reset. You could take the hoses off and check if the butterfly is moving freely.
I would also check all the hoses are not loose as a start.

ParticipantMike looked after my old 3200, so you’re in good hands. I also had this and changed the crank sensors to fix it, however there are so many other items to check.
Have you thought about sending David Askew a note & see if he has come across this, as these cars get older and there are not that many around some issues are not seen that often or not materialised yet.
I once had loss of all electrical power intermittently, Mike traced it to a hot rubber pipe coming loose and melting a wire, so I’m sure he will find it, just a matter of time.

ParticipantI thought it might be a long shot, just in case I’ve brought the folder with me to the classic motor show. I’ve also mentioned this to a few indie dealers.
With so many cars now SORN it’s probably unlikely but I’ll hang on and not bin it.
I’ve just got up going for breakfast then off to the NEC, I like getting there early and viewing the cars before the public arrive.

ParticipantWith different widths you are stuck with the tyre weld, I agree it doesn’t suit every eventuality. It must be a nightmare if you live somewhere remote, however I’m sure there will be some creative local solutions to get you going.
Tony Jaskeran
ParticipantIf I had to choose one item of the above it would be a spare, if you are on holiday it’s a real pain to use a space saver then find a garage somewhere remote for a new tyre. In the past I’ve bought a 2nd hand full size spare then put it back on eBay when the car is sold.

ParticipantIt cleaned up nicely, good luck with the sale.

ParticipantFrom experience, you can’t polish out Matt paint or use t-cut, if bird droppings are not removed quickly this can cause problems. This paint is very difficult to match up so you need a very good paint shop for any damages so yes you may need entire panels resprayed. A friend had the front end and wings wrapped in clear 3m film especially to help with potential repairs it was expensive to do this but cheaper than fixing any deep stone chips.
Personally I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

ParticipantHi Alex,
Two places I have used:
https://www.autofficina.co.uk Elias runs this place. Based in Tolworth so might be nearer for you just off the A3, if you book in here let me know as it’s 10 minutes from me.
http://www.scuderia.london Kabir knows these cars. In Chiswick but handy if you work in London as near the district line tube.
Best wishes
Tony

ParticipantI was in Ashbourne last week, a lovely part of the country. In the boot look in the battery compartment the switch is to the left of the battery or behind the battery if you are facing the car not the end near the rear light cluster.
The nearest indie to you are https://www.shiltechperformancecars.com based in Loughborough about 45 mins drive. If the reset does not work you can ask them to do a diagnostic check. These cars do like to be driven.
