Thanks Eric. I have a number of CTEK chargers. I swear by them and use them regularly on other cars but, even though my car has the convenience leads fitted, I have to admit that I don’t leave it with a CTEK connected as it lives in a Carcoon so it’s a bit awkward but, from what you say, it looks like I should be doing so in future. My car is in for MOT today and I mentioned the problem to the garage owner who is a personal friend and an excellent mechanic. He said he suspected a “sticky motor” (in his words) so will check it out. If he comes up with anything I’ll feed it back but, for the moment I’ll break out the CTEKs.

Thanks Christopher, I’ll try that if it happens again.

Just went to move my 2012 Granturismo S out of its Carcoon to find the parking brake locked on and a message on the dash telling me to take the car to a main agent. (Quite how I’m supposed to do that when it’s parked nose up to my garage wall, I’m not sure!)

Eventually got it to free off using the old “switch off, switch on” reset procedure a few times but I’m rather worried that it will happen again and won’t reset so easily or, indeed, at all.

Has anyone else had this problem occur and is there a simple fix without involving a main agent?
