The next day the weather had closed in which was a shame as I was looking forward to driving over the Col du Tourmalet. It cleared enough for the drive but everything was a little more tentative and the rain and spray rendered the views from the external cameras pretty much useless.

One more video to come from this set. Though this is another damp one so I’ll have to see what I can get out of the footage.

The next pass was the Col d’Aubisque. Sadly the road was closed at the top so we had to turn around and come back down. Still, it was worth it for the drive up and down.

    Hello there,

Welcome to the club and good to see new people appearing on the forums.

I’m starting the next one, and there’s a little more loud pedal use in it. Its the last sunny one. There will be two more to come I think, but the weather is a little miserable for them which reduces the usable camera angles as the side camera gets covered in spray too quickly to be usable.

I thought that this was a good match. There is little real brand overlap, FIAT/Renault and commercials, but it they would compliment each other in other areas. It was certainly a better proposition than anything involving PSA which has divested itself of Maserati once in its history already.

Your wish is my command. This is from earlier in the holiday. I’ve still not owned the car for a week at this point and I’m a little tentative still.

You can tell the earlier video is from later into the trip. I’ve settled into driving the Levante and don’t hold back 🙂

Oops. I did it again 🙂

Just got back from taking our new car down through France and into Spain. This is from near the end of the trip, there will be more to come from earlier, order isn’t important.

    I’ll third that.

I do like the clean look of it, but the events diary on the back page is pretty much unreadable. There are a couple of other spots, the blue boxes with black writing on the club events page are a struggle as well.

I’ve driven Thruxton a couple of times, once in an RX-8 and another in an F-car. Its a great circuit and really rewards good driving. The go-kart track is fun as well.

We’d have both loved to have come along but unfortunately we will be in Torino then. The crosses we have to bear eh?

Hope everyone has a great time.

This fits in with the announcements made on the FCA call on 1st June last year. Given Marchionne’s unexpected death it was to be expected that things might have been delayed a little. This would seem to point to Geneva next year as the launch date, with the pre-production cars, and general release later in the year.

Maserati are going to have to pick things up after that though and get replacements for the other models, if they are going to continue them, the year after with electric/hybrid options. In the meantime a Ghibli GTS would suit me fine as long as its made in RHD, unlike most of the other specials they have announced.

When I went above the 50k miles I wrote an article on DriveTribe about my experiences so far. Here is the link in case anyone is interested https://drivetribe.com/p/50000-miles-in-maserati-Wwmdr6ewRT-8QiTq_o8INQ

I use my Ghibli as my daily driver. Even after 55000 miles it still puts a smile on my face every time I close the door and start the engine.

I do sometimes alternate with an 2001 Alfa Spider when the sun is shining, but the Maserati is my main daily car.

If only Maserati Classiche included making parts for older cars like the company that makes the red cars do…

Interesting write up. It is a lovely collection and the fact that there are no barriers, ropes, or any other restriction on how close you can get to the cars is great.

The roads around there are… interesting, especially with the Italian approach to driving along them 😉

Had a bit of fun with a couple of chaps from the SportsMaserati forum on Saturday and took a bit of video to show off more of our beautiful countryside.
