ParticipantI kept logging in and out. I could get in the other forums and post. It was odd that this one I couldn’t

ParticipantWe were looking at a couple of places in the Kelso/Jedburgh area at the weekend, neither are suitable for different reasons, but haven’t got anywhere ruled in/out at present.
Thanks for the recommendation for Car Storage Scotland. I’d seen the adverts but its always better to have a recommendation from someone.

ParticipantI was planning on seeing this at JCT600 Maserati yesterday evening but it was damaged when loading onto the transporter at HR Owen and the tour is suspended until the car is repaired.

ParticipantA lot of these dealers had Ferrari and Maserati in the same building. I understand that when Ferrari last visited and saw Maserati still in the same building they asked why that was the case. Hence dealers either moving, or dropping, Maserati.
My local Maserati dealer at least decided to move the brand rather than drop it. Apparently they are making sales as well, they even managed to shift a Levante Trofeo they had in the showroom.

ParticipantJust an update. It appears that I was unlucky and Pirelli were updating their system at the time I was trying to register.
Leaving it a day meant that I was able to register successfully and get my card. Of course given the current situation its currently sat on a shelf waiting until I need to put fuel into a car.

ParticipantUntil seeing this post I didn’t release that there was an Instagram account, or Facebook page.
On the Facebook page would it be better if it was a Group rather than a page?
Mick Sheppard
ParticipantThanks. I’ll try them and hopefully get things sorted.

ParticipantAccording to the rumours this week Alfa Romeo, DS, and Lancia are considered premium brands within the group and all will be getting new cars to sell. It will be interesting if Lancia will make a return to these shores. Maserati is, of course, its luxury brand.
I’m hopeful that the economies of scale that should be available will ensure that it remains in a health financial position and is able to support new car development along the lines outlined over the past few years.

ParticipantI’ve got a couple of issues with the Pirelli website. The first is if I login using the details I used the first time it tells me that my fuel card is on its way without letting me put a claim in for the latest set of tyres.
If I use a new email address I get the registration email but when clicking on it I just get a blank page.
It would be good to be able to get the card so that I can have all of the issues everyone else is trying to use it 😉

ParticipantGlad you managed to get home Graham

ParticipantHaving been stuck in with the lockdown I decided that the only thing was to take the Levante to the shop early in the morning. The sun was shining, the roads empty, a short bit of fun ensued –

ParticipantIf the rumours are to be believed the “mule” is an actual “Alfieri” chassis but with heavy disguise.
The engine is a development of the Ferrari Roma engine with two cylinders removed and different crank geometry.
How much of this is true or speculation remains to be seen.
It is good to see a new Maserati sports car out on the streets whatever the validity of the rumours are.

ParticipantIt’s an interesting idea but when you have a car with different width wheels front and rear does this mean you need two spares?
Neither of my Maserati have had a spare. I have had punctures and used the compressor to inflate the tyres enough to be able to get to a tyre shop.I often run my Alfa Spider without the spare in it as there’s more room in the boot. Its one of those things that when asked people moan about but the reality is that, these days, with good tyres punctures are few and far between.

ParticipantI’ve just had my Levante S detailed and treated with CQuartz Professional by my local detailer. With the rain yesterday it beaded well and still looks clean. My Levante lives outside, at least until I find a house with a big enough garage. I had the wheels treated as well this time so we will see if this has any impact on keeping them in top condition. The wheels on the Ghibli had started to lose some of the coating and were starting to look a bit shabby by the time I swapped it.

ParticipantI had my Ghibli professionally ceramic coated (CQuartz Pro I believe) which has a 2 year guarantee on the coating. I’ve got my Levante booked in to have the same done in August.
Cleaning with the ceramic coating on was as simple as spraying it with the snow foam, leaving for 5-10 minutes whilst I did the wheels, then rinsing off. Dirt just didn’t stick to it. Combine this with filtered water so there’s no need to dry and it got cleaning down to 15-20 minutes and no faffing around with buckets and cloths.
