ParticipantChris,
Thanks for taking the time to respond, I would agree that that the approach you are suggesting is the right one.
I too joined the club left and rejoined, I did think long and hard before posting about this but decided it worth doing.
The intention was not to be negative but instead hopefully provoke some thought or conversation.
The forum appears to only have a small number of active members, I have no idea if others visit but do not post. Would there be any merit in somehow engaging with the membership as a whole to see if other members have any thoughts or suggestions?
Kind Regards
Lee

ParticipantThank you for the reply.
I suspect as Chairman you could possibly be less aware of how some members may perceive things. I fully appreciate that friendships etc are formed. Also it should be expected that any group of people will be exactly that a group, with a mix of personalities.
I have met some nice people within the club but have also encountered a few that seem less than warm. It way well be a weakness on my part however, I am aware of others that have sometimes felt the club is not as approachable as it should be.
Maybe it would help if the club was involved in some less formal events, or regional meetings? Maybe they it already is?
How many members does the club have? How many of them attend events?
How do members communicate? I would have expected more communication on the forum?
My intention is not to be negative but to hopefully engage in some discussion which would help the club feel more inclusive and possibly even be better?

ParticipantThanks for replying.
I wouldnt claim to have any real answers but do feel more needs to be done to improve the online presence.
I also feel work is needed to engage with members accross the board.
Given the extract above from the club website it does seem a shame that some members perceive, rightly or wrongly that they are less important.
There will always be a core of active members, sub-groups and cliques but if a club wants to survive and hopefully thrive it should cater for all its members, especially if it is happy to take membership fees from them.
I realise it is always far easier to point out thing that we dont like than come up with solutions.

ParticipantThanks! To be honest i am not sure, the previous owner had it made / fitted, clearly I need to do some investigation.
Have always liked the sound and never thought it was overly loud etc – maybe I need my hearing checked?
