ParticipantI didn’t even remember there is a Club Facebook group until reading this thread…and it appears to have had no posts for 6 months so is even less supported than the forum.
The navigation limitations of WhatsApp do not lend themselves to any real depth of communication unlike Facebook. If more people were to utilise the FB group then I believe the push-fed notifications would drive some activity and perhaps lead to many more adhoc meets among members. It’s also much quicker to use than the forum and can be properly moderated to avoid wandering off topic, I’ll post something and see if enthusiasm results.
The Silverstone Social (albeit with many more members than us) is a purely Facebook based club and is very successful and well supported.

ParticipantAs with all such legislative changes that will affect existing inventory in one way or another, there is much debate and conflicting opinions as to how it will do this, won’t do that etc. My research unfortunately cannot provide much clarity, save to say:
a. Using E10 will not result in instant failure but the older the components, the sooner some degradation will occur.
b. Probably not a bad idea to change “soft” fuel system parts in advance (assuming you can verify E10 compliance…)
c. Don’t leave E10 in the tank without an ethanol stabiliser if the car is not to be used for a prolonged period.
One report I read suggested that although the measured energy density is lower than E5/pure petrol, the stuff actually burns cleaner and may in fact result in improved performance and negligible consumption increase. This will obviously depend upon the individual vehicle specs but, my brain cannot reconcile figures of 30+% degradation with only a 5% change in chemistry!
So there you go, no help whatsoever.

ParticipantSo…we had a look on Autotrader and one week later we were driving back from Kent…can’t believe this thing returns 30+ MPG.
Came with service, new tyres, brake pads f/r and 12 mths MOT. First owner optioned the paint, wheels, roof, laminated privacy glass, extended leather, f seat heating, carbon trim, Active Shift and power column. Stunning bit of kit.

ParticipantA bit of an idea only at the moment Graham, my mileage has fallen away since January (not just C-19 related) so I’m looking at driving something I want to on an every day basis and my Legnum has just burst a brake pipe as well as becoming harder to maintain after 21 years! The 430 gets run at every opportunity but I really want that to remain A1. Thanks for your note.
Appreciate the feedback Helen. I think they got the car basically right and I’ve not come across any real horror stories once the recalls are done. Now for the financial planning!

ParticipantNo worries Sean, I too have separately emailed you on your reply.
Cheers,
