ParticipantMy multi car policy is due for renewal in 6 weeks. I have a few classics and I’m looking for someone to value my 1977 Merak for insurance purposes.
A few years ago my 1977 Porsche 911 3.0 was stolen. My policy was for “market value”. I had a porsche valuation from John Glynn in my document file, which was sufficient proof of it’s value for the insures (after 6 months!).
I’d like the same for my 1977 Merak SS which has has a nut and bolt restoration at a cost of £130k. The restoration and subsequent condition will have some impact on the value I guess, although we never get this back in full.
Any recommendations please?

ParticipantHi Robert, I had a classic collectors, multi policy with Locktons insurance , who I have found to be competitive and helpful (not that i have claimed!). They also in the past have sponsored the Maserati Club Concours, and think there may be a discount via the club with them. Regards Andy.

ParticipantThank you. I will ask them to quote.
but I still need someone to give me a value for an agreed value policy condition.
does the club offer anything along these lines I wonder?

ParticipantRobert, it depends where the car is currently stored as you would not want to drive it to other locations for a valuation. From the north to the south Autoshield (Manchester) : McGrath Maserati ( Hertfordshire) and possibly Emblem on the south coast.

ParticipantI’m with Locktons and you need to remember that the valuations only last two years before requiring to be renewed. Take care as it’s easy to miss this when renewing and the value then reverts to market value. That said I think Lockton’s are excellent and having the ability to drive friends cars (with their permission) is a big thing as well as hassle free additions and deletions during the year.!

ParticipantI’m with Cherished Vehicles (part of A plan) and have an agreed value of around £25k on my 02 spyder – I think the premium was around £200, but mileage restricted to 7500 miles – probably okay this year but not next year if we can do all the trips, especially European, we want to.
