Has anyone had the underside of their car wax protected for the long term. I have seen some 3200 undersides and QP5 Duoselect subframes looking abit worse for ware after the last 15-20 +years of use.
If so what to use where do you get it done?
There are an amazing number of what I would call vulnerable places and parts under most of our cars.
Mine has been waxolyed, I’ve also used dinitrol in the past. This is really is a must for our cars & needs to be done about every 3 years depending on how it’s stored or at least monitored.
Mine is in a heated and ventilated garage, obviously if you are in a damp or salty climate then it requires regular checking.
Some older cars are having horrendous problems with subframes rotting due to a lack of treatment.
Even 10 year old QPVs are suffering. For some reason this particular model seems to be affected badly, and, as Tony says would reccommend it is essential to get some form of underbody treatment for them.
I took my 02 Spyder to SportsItalia in Southampton – it required major surgery (I suspected it was rather poorly!!). And they gave it some underbody treatment (and have done so to a variety of models – sadly in some instances the poor owner is oblivious to the sorry state they are in until shown). I would 100% recommend them
