On arriving home this evening I was delighted to find a copy of trident magazine had been delivered. I have so far only read “from the editor” which mentions the Maserati showroom of HR Owen in Hatfield, somewhere I had recently visited to obtain a Certificate of Conformity for my lowly 3200GT.
I have to say I found the experience very professional yet friendly and welcoming. The joint showroom with individual areas for each marque feels very special.
While the car was being looked at we decided to have some breakfast at the Comet Hotel a short walk away. This gave us the opportunity to also have a look at their Ferrari showroom next door, where a vast array of Ferrari were on display, lovely cars but maybe partly due to the number of cars, as impressive as it was it didn’t seem so special (I’m sure it was but was how I felt – but them I have always prefered Maserati!)
The Service at HR Owen is what I would expect from a Maserati dealer, and I just hope that the marque can strike the correct balance of exclusivity and warmth that Maserati deserves.
