High time, I think, to sing the praises of the glorious 4200 Spyder. No, not the GranSport, but the much overlooked and underrated Spyder ‘Normale’. I’m now on my second, this one a fairly rare 6-on-a-stick manual which never fails to delight. No, it’s not the slickest, quickest stick-shift in the world but, once mastered, it brings out the best in the wonderful V8 up front. So, until I can conjure up from somewhere the funds necessary to acquire an MC20 ‘Cielo’ I shall continue to enjoy to the full the joys imparted by its predecessor – truly one of the great early C21st sportscars.

Glad to hear you are enjoying ownership. One of the best value cars these Spyders and yes the V8 is amazing.

These cars are all about the experience and thrill of driving so keep going.

Yes my 90th anniversary goes from strength to strength strength with the help of Marios set up.

what a difference he has made to its performance and having had the tracking sorted at great expense at a main dealer the handling is much improved.

so it’s all go and we are now on Edwin’s spain Portugal tour when we get home I will prep it for Yorkshire elegance at Grantley hall Skipton on 23 & 24 th July where the Club have an exclusive display area.

hope to see a good compliment of club members there. Contact me for a discounted ticket

That’s great news, I had the pleasure of fitting one of Mario’s x pipe to my Gransport.

How do you find the result? We all know the sound will be good but does it affect performance and can is thesports button still effective and meaning you can reduce the volume in build up areas

I currently have the un silenced X-pipe & recently replaced the ceramic cats for custom 200 cel, which retains the lambda probes but further back so no problem with the ECU. My exhaust back boxes are valved so quiet mode in the morning then you can use sport on the open road or where-ever you like.
The throttle response is much better, and about 10th more.
The sound on the way back from brands hatch was very good said all the photographers.
