    Interesting announcement by FCA….

“Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) boss Sergio Marchionne announced the return of the brand to F1 earlier today. In what’s described as “a multi-year technical and commercial partnership agreement”, the brand will return to the grid with the Swiss-based Sauber F1 Team next season.”

So, Sauber keep the Ferrari engines, and can now paint an Alfa Romeo logo on the side of the cars! Bound to make them go faster and finish above last place in the Constructors championship.

Assume we will have a Trident painted on them as well soon…..

Would be lovely to see a Trident logo on the cars next season. However I doubt it will go on.

I suppose if a Trident were to be on the cars, they would also need air-conditioning for the drivers, electrically adjustable/heated seats,  sumptuous carpet, leather seats and an auditorium quality sound system for them to communicate with the pits……..

The drivers would be lining up for a drve in that case!

Although to be fair prior to leaving F1 Maserati built some proper racers.

I think this is a mirror of the  ‘Toro Rosso’/’Red Bull’ relationship….. It does look like the new drivers for the team look promising though….. Leclerc especially…

I think Ferrari needed a junior team, as a feeder, to spead engine use / development cost and also to maintain plenty of weight within F1 talks / rule changes in the future.

Would not want a Trident on the side of a car that finished last !

Rumours doing the rounds that the Trident might appear on the side of the  Haas F1!

    Indeed so!

Amazing! Marchionne is indeed talking with Haas! At least they got 47 points last year, and I suppose the Ferrari engines they are using is a little like the ‘arrangements’ with the road cars!
