ParticipantHi guys! I’m new. Just picked up my 2011 GranCabrio, my very first foray into Maserati ownership. Having spent the last 15 years cocooned in German efficiency, I’m looking forward to some Italian passion and drama. (I tried explaining that to my 8 year old son!). I’ve posted on the tech forum that I’ve a knock from the rear already when going over speed bumps however, this post is about the infotainment. How do I get it upgraded? The interface is pants. I’ve seen some quite amusing upgrades that appear to velcro an ipad to the front of the screen but then I’ve also seen some very cool carplay upgrades that include rear facing cameras and siri integration. That looks like the way to go for me.
All help, guidance and advice welcome.
Thanks,
Stewart

ParticipantStewart,
Welcome to the Club. I purchased a Granturismo in March last year. Had the audio upgraded to the large screen which is compatible with Apple car play and has rear camera. Excellent job done by Audiofile Incar of Cambridge. Cost £2k which also included an immobiliser as part of the ignition to reduce risk of theft.

ParticipantThe touch screen btw is transparent – and unless you look carefully you won’t know it has been installed – the only give away is where you locate the microphone – here is me using it my QP for the first time – terrible video I know! https://1drv.ms/v/s!AoUimyn1b9uxgbIuVzvwtjD56nC5Dg

ParticipantThat looks really good. Is that the original screen or a replacement? The standard screen is lo res this looks better. I could be wrong though.
thanks for the video 🙂

ParticipantSo the only change is that a clear touch screen overlays the OEM screen. It’s clear and see through when not in use (and does sharpen up the standard image a little – I don’t know why) and becomes “solid” when CarPlay or rear camera is installed. After 2 years of Apple (what I use) updates its even better now…..oh and I can use it better!
