ParticipantNot familiar with the GT, is there not one in the glove box.
Otherwise have a look at this and give Scuderia a call https://www.scuderiacarparts.com/part/202800/maserati/242561/usbaux-in-socket.html#fitment

KeymasterHi Jon,
I have a 2019, but did have a 2012, there should be a USB point inside the centre console towards the back or its the good old cig power socket with a usb plug in. Some are fitted with USB slots in the back centre console under a small sliding panel just above the cup holders.
You are right on the indicators even my later model you cannot hear them and there is no way to audibly turn them up, however you can change the centre dashboard console panel lights up and down by the + & – dials just down and right of the steering wheel next to the lights button which can make them brighter.
There is supposed to be a sensor that if the indicator has been left on for more than a mile it gives a continuous sound to advise the driver to turn them off, not tried this myself.
regards Eric

ParticipantJon I have a Nov 2019 GT as well and as epic notes you cant turn the sound up and hardly ever hear anything. Never been a problem but if you do leave them then there is a sensor and you will get an audible warning after bit of time- i haunt timed it. – I have had it happen.

ParticipantThanks for your suggestions guys it looks like the cig power socket for me I have no usb thingy’s and to continue my lack of fortune the + & – dash light adjuster does not increase the flasher density and I am also short of an audible warning so that one needs a rethink maybe I can get a louder bleeper fitted somehow I will check

ParticipantJust went to move my 2012 Granturismo S out of its Carcoon to find the parking brake locked on and a message on the dash telling me to take the car to a main agent. (Quite how I’m supposed to do that when it’s parked nose up to my garage wall, I’m not sure!)
Eventually got it to free off using the old “switch off, switch on” reset procedure a few times but I’m rather worried that it will happen again and won’t reset so easily or, indeed, at all.
Has anyone else had this problem occur and is there a simple fix without involving a main agent?

ParticipantBefore doing anything drastic like going to a dealer –if the car has been sitting a long time you should spend sometime just pumping the normal brake pedal and if no good then you can utilise the “Manual Disengagement Procedure “as found in the manual. I had the same on my QP GTS of the same year.

ParticipantThanks Christopher, I’ll try that if it happens again.

ParticipantWhen leaving for a long period simply do not use the parking brake the engine will lock itself in gear when turned off
My dealer Emblem says they have sorted it but not to use it when putting the car away for any length of time when wet
I therefore resort to line one

KeymasterHi Tom,
This is common with pre 2019 GTS as the electronic systems tend to drain the battery (especially if you have the older Vodafone tracker system active) and when it gets to 12.3v all sorts start to fail, the electronic handbrake for one. The norm is power on, do not crank, power off then on again with the footbrake firmly pushed down and do not crank, then off then on with the footbrake depressed and crank. it will start and the electronic handbrake should disenage.
If it gets below 12.3v then this will not work and even the electric boot release will not open so you will need to use the manual release under the nearside rear seat side panel. Then charge up the battery and utilse the above procedure.
Best way to avoid is to have a CTEK MXS 5.0 auto charger, this is what all the main manufactures use (Ferrari, Bently, Porche etc. even Maserati) but they badge them their own logos and charge from from £275 upwards! A CTEK on the web is about £70 and not only will it charge but will recondition the battery, then drops into a low trickle charge which can be left on all the time.
I use to have mine on all over winter with the unit in the boot. If yours has the charging point it with fit straight in otherwise there is an adaptor that fits on the battery and has the charge plug on, I use to have this come out under the boot shelf and just plugged in.

ParticipantThanks Eric. I have a number of CTEK chargers. I swear by them and use them regularly on other cars but, even though my car has the convenience leads fitted, I have to admit that I don’t leave it with a CTEK connected as it lives in a Carcoon so it’s a bit awkward but, from what you say, it looks like I should be doing so in future. My car is in for MOT today and I mentioned the problem to the garage owner who is a personal friend and an excellent mechanic. He said he suspected a “sticky motor” (in his words) so will check it out. If he comes up with anything I’ll feed it back but, for the moment I’ll break out the CTEKs.

KeymasterHi Tom,
There should not be an issue with the electronic handbrake motor, it is mearly that at 12.3v it will not turn the motor and the electronics “think” it is siezed and cuts it to avoid a potential fire hence the message to go to a dealer to sort out when basically its just a low battery at first start up.
Once charged and reset there should not be any further issues with it unless its a genuine siezed motor but then it would not reset.
regards Eric
