ParticipantI’m currently researching a 2014 Ghibli S and I cannot find any information on dealer service measures. Whilst aware of the official recalls (not specifically checked yet as I don’t have the VIN) I would like to know about any applicable service measures that may have been missed and any other issues that owners have experienced, particularly those that have proven difficult or impossible to rectify. Grateful for your advice!

ParticipantHi Howard,
Taking the plunge into ‘modern’ Maserati ownership then!
Mick Sheppard who often posts on here had a Ghibli S so may well be able to help.
Search for him using the Directory, and you will be then be able to email him.
Look forward to seeing the pictures should you go ahead.

ParticipantHello. I had a Ghibli S for about 2 years, until last Spring (when I got a Levante S). It was about 8 months old when I bought it from Graypaul’s. Only issues I experienced were (1) not keen to go into reverse sometimes, as the selection lever was a bit woolly (where I live, the car crime is so bad that I viewed this issue as a bit of an anti-theft device!), and (2) loss of washer water owing to a crack in the headlamp washer reservoir (quickly identified by Graypaul and fixed under warranty).
it was my third Mazzy and a great deal easier to live with day-to-day than my previous models. Hope you enjoy it too.

ParticipantA bit of an idea only at the moment Graham, my mileage has fallen away since January (not just C-19 related) so I’m looking at driving something I want to on an every day basis and my Legnum has just burst a brake pipe as well as becoming harder to maintain after 21 years! The 430 gets run at every opportunity but I really want that to remain A1. Thanks for your note.
Appreciate the feedback Helen. I think they got the car basically right and I’ve not come across any real horror stories once the recalls are done. Now for the financial planning!

ParticipantHoward, sorry to see the Legnum go after all these years. What a stirling vehicle with performance to match. I hope your venture into “moderns” is a good experience but don’t forget to cost in the tyres as a running cost. The rear’s don’t last long !!
Hope you are both fit and well — Cheers – Keith3rd August 2020 at 3:03 pm #13624howard-poole
ParticipantSo…we had a look on Autotrader and one week later we were driving back from Kent…can’t believe this thing returns 30+ MPG.
Came with service, new tyres, brake pads f/r and 12 mths MOT. First owner optioned the paint, wheels, roof, laminated privacy glass, extended leather, f seat heating, carbon trim, Active Shift and power column. Stunning bit of kit.

ParticipantNice one Howard!
(I did notice you had registered it on the website!)
Leather looks in really good condition.
Well done!
