I have a spare black key for the 3200 which is missing the imobilser transponder (I assume one of the previous owners lost it). The button disarm and unlocks the car, the key obviously fits the locks but will not start the car. Is it possible to get a new transponder? I have seen them available for Flats and they look to be the same size and shape but assume that if they can be used, some sort of programming would be required?

No big issue as it is an extra spare but would be nice if I could get it to work.

Yes you can but can’t remember where, it will need reprogramming to the ECU. I’ll see if I have any information in my files this weekend.

I’ve checked my files, you used to be able to you a Fiat transponder and then validate with the ECU.

Contact Myles at Emblem as they use to be able to get hold of these Fiat transponders.

Thanks for the help on this!

So the transponders I bought arrived as did the programer / reader that I took a chance on. This morning I had a go at copying , programming the new transponder. In all honesty I wasnt really expecting it to work, however it seems I now have another working key! So if anyone else is missing a transponder i hopefully should be able to help.

    Cheers

That’s great news, where did you purchase the transponder & programmer from.
