ParticipantMy dealer recommended I install an immobiliser to my GranTurismo in addition to the Vodafone tracker. A Ghost 2 immobiliser was installed but I subsequently have had starting problems. Maserati say the fault lies with the immobiliser and there is no approved system for this model. Lockton Performance are my insurers who have an immobiliser required as a condition of my cover. Has anybody else had this problem and has a fix?
many thanks

ParticipantThis is a known issue regarding no Standard immobiliser. You best bet is to source a local auto electrician. Are you in London as I can recommended a few Maserati indies that may be able to help.
It won’t help, I had a similar issue and decided to search for an insurer that could accommodate me.
On my Gransport, I removed the tracker as Vodafone were charging a ridiculous amount to replace the unit as it was not supported and also a huge monthly charge. So I did the same and found a new insurance company that didn’t mandate a tracker.

ParticipantThat is really helpful, thank you.
Yes I am in London so any contacts would be useful. The immobiliser was fitted by a local auto electrician so it would be good to hear what others may have to say.29th November 2024 at 5:33 pm #21819Tony Jaskeran

ParticipantSo an update on the immobiliser issue. I now have a fully functional Ghost 2 immobiliser fitted. There is an issue, apparently also occurs on Alfa Romeos, that causes a perceived incompatibility issue. Resolution is to have the set notification as an audible signal rather than linked to the lights.
If anyone needs details of the installer who overcame the problem, please try Dan, Advanced Vehicle Security Ltd, 07552 131457.
