Hi Paul,

I have similar with my 3200. Whenever companies quote they think it is an Assetto Corsa, which it is not. It takes a lot of persuading sometimes to get them to believe you!

This year I am with Locktons, first time for me, and I was amazed at their quote, some £50 less than the nearest. My wife is always on the car, as it does reduce the quotes by fair bit. She only drives it in emergency.

We were shopping around for the Mother-in-law the other day. She is currently with SAGA, 84 years old with an ‘own fault’ (reversed into a bollard) claim 2 years ago. The claim bumped her premium up to over £1000 for a 1.2L Mitsubishi ‘lawn mower’!

For her we went back to A-Plan (brokers) and they got it down to £800. All the online quotes we got would have required her to have a black box fitted. My understanding of these is that if you do speed persistently and ignore their warnings the companies will fine you (may not be a bad thing in some cases).

This thread started with the ‘pay as you go ‘ insurance schemes (Bymiles, Coverbox etc.), would be interested when they start to look at marques like Maserati……
