Italian Car Day is one of Brooklands biggest events of the year including a vast display of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati.

This year event organiser and Trident editor Phil Ward has arranged for selected cars from the Maserati Club to be part of the special car display in the exclusive ‘Nuvolari Paddock’ with additional Maserati Exclusive parking on the Campbell Lawn.

Maserati 4CS
Small car big history. First raced in the 1935 Mille Miglia, the car finished 7th overall and 1st in class. It competed in several races and hillclimbs until 1938 with noted drivers including Bertocchi, Lurani and Villoresi. It was sold to a Singapore owner in 1939. In 1942, the car was confiscated by the Japanese army. After the war, it ran in the Johore GP fitted with a Jaguar SS engine. In the 1950s, it went to the USA, where it lay dismantled until UK Maserati Club UK member Ken Painter found it in 1969. Ken’s son now owns the car and has competed with it in VSCC events.

Maserati Group A Biturbo
Prepared by the Maserati factory, the car was supplied to UK Maserati main dealer MD Nick May to race in the 1988 British Touring Car Championship. Lack of development and a change in regulations resulted in the car being retired. It remained with Nick May for 35 years until it was sold to Colin Sowter, owner of Superformance, renowned UK auto parts supplier.

This is part of the Celebration of 100 Years of the Trident and 100 years of Maserati in Competitive Motorsport.  Producing legendary and iconic Racing Cars from the Tipo 26 to the GT2.  We would like to mark this double centenary with as many Maserati as possible to create a stunning display of these wonderful cars through the decades.

Brooklands offers a wide range of attractions from static aviation, bus and motoring exhibitions, to live ‘owner driver’ action on the challenging test hill, and test track demonstrations over at Mercedes-Benz World. The track format involves five groups of 10 visitor cars, escorted around the circuit by a Ferrari control car. Maserati Club owners are invited to take part.
