I am experiencing a persistent ‘Error Oil Level’ warning light in my 3200 GT. Nothing to do with the oil level, but an electrical glitch. My dealer has explained that this is due to a faulty control module which they have been unable to replace (apparently no longer in production). Any suggestions would be welcome.

Has the dealer carried out a diagnostic check to ensure it’s the module. Otherwise oil error can indicate other issues eg end float, oil sender.

If they are sure its the module, have you tried any of the usual suppliers for used parts eg David Askew or eurospares.

btw which dealer is the car with.

Hi contact David Askew Maserati you can google him and then send him an email . David has lots of second hand parts for the 3200 can can probably supply the part you need , if David does not have the sensor try McGrath Maserati or Autoshield in Manchester.

    Hi Michael,

Probably a faulty oil sender, is the light on all the time, or flickering? I have been told they ‘degrade’ over time (my 3200 has had 2 new ones in nearly 14 years of ownership). As Rex says, try David Askew, then you will probably have to work your way around the Specialists to find one who has one in stock. McGraths would be next nearest to you.

    Regards,

    Graham
