The Sicilian Targa Florio has been re-launched taking place along the original route over 3 days. It is billed as the World’s oldest race but after many accidents and deaths the racing stopped in 1977 and it has since been a rally. In period it was won twice by 6CM Maserati and once by a 4CL with a further 15 podiums for the marque. They give preference to models of cars that competed in the race in period from 1906 – 1977.
As you can see from the photo more modern cars are permitted to follow or get in the way of the competitors!
