My 2011 granturismo has started making all sorts of noises and knocks whilst driving. They only seem to start once the car gets warm. It’s not a squeak from the rollbar mounts – had them done. It’s not the deep “twang” from the back – had the shocks swapped around and all good now.  You can feel the knock come up through your feet in the front and in the back – over bumps, over speed humps, when turning quick sharply on smooth roads – nearly all the time, everywhere.  It’s making the cabin a deeply unpleasant place to be.  The local specialist has put it up on ramps and pushed and pulled everything. Tightened everything. No joy.

    Hi Stewart,

Do you have a Quick Fit MOT centre nearby as they have MOT car ramps that really moves, vibrates, shakes and throws the car around on top of it for checking MOT failures of ball joints etc. They get under the car and feel and listen to all the noises so may indentify your problem.

    regards Eric

Ask them to also check the wheel bearings.

    Hi guys,

sorry for the late reply.  Took the car to KwikFit – all sorted!  Apparently, the undertray was loose.  They tightened 6 or so bolts and voila,  the knocking has stopped.

One other thing I had was a squeaking from the front when the car got hot.  Sorted this by spraying grease into the rubber bushes/glands where the roll bar goes in.

Finally, I have a car that doesn’t annoy the back end out of me!

    Thanks for the advice.

Great news and even better a cheap & quick fix.
