ParticipantI’ve just started to get all the fault lights and codes come up when I’m driving the car. I get the ABS, MSP and Check Suspension faults but the diagnostics check has shown that there are no faults in the car at all.
Does anyone have any experience of having a new display fitted and getting the unit programmed to match the old unit in terms of mileage etc.
Thanks
Marcus

ParticipantFirst of all I’d check the battery, this is so common on a lot of electric issues. Once the voltage drops marginally this will effect a few items.
If this proves not to be the issues then, relays, fuses and then connection of a reader is what I suggest next.
If you really think you need a new unit let us know and we can suggest some indies that could help, your location would be useful.

ParticipantThanks Tony-Jaskeran, I’m in Bristol. I’ve got an excellent auto electrician at AES Retrofit who have lots of knowledge. He’s connected his diagnostic unit onto the car and there are no faults showing at all. He’s seen this sort of thing on Fiats and is convinced it’s a display unit fault. Some Indie companies would be really useful. Many thanks. Marcus

ParticipantGood morning Marcus, Dave Jenkinson here, I was going to give you a lead but now see you are at the other end of the country. However, I have had a similar problem which won’t disappear after a total discharge of original battery. New battery fitted only to discover faults similar to yours but with the added bonus of the alarm resetting itself as the door is shut.
in my neck of the woods McGrath’s of Kimpton near Hitchen, Herts, have been extremely helpful but, this is beyond them and have directed me to Jardine Motors, Colchester. They, I have been reliably informed will have the software to tackle anything.

ParticipantWould i be correct in thinking that you have to have disconnected the battery for at least an hour or more for a full reset of everything.I had this problem last year on GT and was told by a dealer to do a hard reset by disconnecting and “leaving it a few hours” before reconnecting. If it didn’t work then they would look at it.
In my case the problem was solved ( no wood car me ).
