ParticipantHi all,
I have recently purchased a GT-S with an MC gearbox. However, i know that the car can do much more than i know, therefore, I would need someone who knows the car backwards and to explain everything, driving, modes, electronics and so on.
the car is a 2009 Granturismo S, 4.7 engine with MC gearbox. Of course, i will pay for the persons time. i live in north/west London.

ParticipantHi Remo,
Welcome to the Club!
There are a number of Granturismo owners who post who, I am sure, will respond soon.
Assume you have a full set of manuals with the car (you can download some from the ‘Resources’ section if required Manuals for cars 2007 onwards)

Was looking at the forum and only just seen this. as was changing my battery in my MacPro (an easy job which became a nightmare!) A little tardy but– I am a GT owner (my second) and having read your post was wondering what you were interested in finding out/learning.
I also had 2 QP cars before with the same engine and alot of same mechanics and can point you to various things. Graham has noted the manuals on the Club website but if not there we can probably join you where or get and post what you need.

ParticipantThanks Chris,
I am looking for someone who knows this particular car very well and, at a cost, to instruct me on how to make the best of the car. I am useless with manuals!

I know the car and its mechanics very very well and could probably tell/show you most things but sounding unfriendly I was/am in a “vulnerable shielding category” and apart from going to hospital haven’t been out since March 6th this year !
Happy to help by email —but it could be a good idea to perhaps go to one of the independent specialists with the car and let them go over everything with you. There are a number around especially down south and it could well be that if you go to see one of them and they think you might bring the car to them after for servicing or any repairs they would spend some time with you for a “favourable sum”. I expect Graham and Lee will read this and they know the independents much better than I do and will probably point you in the right direction.
We have a couple of members who use their GT MC and MC Stradale on trackdays and i know one of them so will ask him to read the forum and see if he is up for it.

ParticipantRemo,
Agree with Chris, you would do well spending an hour or two with one of the Specialists local to you.
Depending where you live, there are Specialists who would happily spend time with you to do an inspection and take you through and explain the features of the car. This may then give you the confidence to also use them, potentially, for ongoing servicing etc.

ParticipantHi Remo, if you’re near Chiswick then https://www.scuderia.london will be local to you.

ParticipantThanks Tony,
I will try Karl……I’ll call him now. The car was serviced by GTO Reading. Great guys although it’s a little too far.
Thanks again and wishing you all the very best for Christmas and New Year! At least we have our cars to keep us sane!
