Ethanol-free unleaded fuel would interest the early years Bi-Turbo owners and older cars with metal fuel tanks. According to Esso, none of their Premium grades like Supreme + 99 contains ethanol whereas Shell do not specify a value on their V-Power. The EU notices you see on pumps like E5 suggest up to 5% is contained, there not being an E0 sign. So if you are concerned, go for Esso.
Chris, it certainly could change but at present only 95 Octane fuel is legally obliged to have (up to) 5% ethanol. If you go to the Esso web site there are certain areas within the UK where 5% is included, even with Esso. They are the west country and parts of the north so best check locally. Where E10 is noted on the pump just keep away as the performance would be reduced. Using more fuel !!!
thanks – better keep away from South-West then- not that we can go anywhere much however– i come from Truro originally and go back whenever I can so ….I was worrying about rubber hoses and gaskets as well as anything performance and mechanically related.
