On the International last September we all received a sample of Meguiars shampoo or tyre treatment.  I just got around to using the shampoo and it recommended that I use it with their wash mitt and drying cloth.  With a wish to be the complete man I sent off for these two items and then set about washing the 4200 Spyder.  Well I have always wondered why their kit was so reassuringly expensive and now I know.  Using the mitt was a revelation.  No water down the shirt sleeve and much easier than a sponge to get into those awkward spots. And it feels lovely to use – warm, wet and so soft!  And the drying cloth was so much better than the ones I have bought before.  It didn’t need to be soaked and then wrung out before use and just soaked up the beads of water.  And I hasten to add no connection or commission from Meguiars – yet!

Sounds great John, do you fancy popping down and cleaning mine now? 🙂

I am a mitt man too (converted a few years back). I also have a couple of poodles (non dog variety) which do the trick.

Are you a two bucket man John?

That’s where that tyre treatment I filed away came from ?

    Two buckets?  What’s that about.

And be careful with the tyre stuff as I ruined a pair of trousers when I dripped some on my knee.

I’m also a two bucket person (and despite my ‘commenting’ Rob is still a sponge and one bucket man) – fill one bucket with the warm soapy water and the other with just warm plain water. Rinse the cloth out in the plain water before applying the soapy water – means you keep washing the car with slightly cleaner cleaner than otherwise – its amazing how dirt comes off – even if you hose down before – and helps reduce fine scratches, etc.
