    I have discovered the problem with my 2008 Grantourismo is the Variators the car is 60.000mls with full main dealer history.

    I am pretty sure it onle needs check valves, but I am relatively new to ownership.

    They only rattle on start-up.

    Is there anyone who can tell me where I might get this fixed without it costing an arm and a leg please.

    There are a number of entries on this topic on the SportsMaserati Forum website which include others experiences and solutions . These include references to a few independents who have dealt with this problem.together with prices  This might be of help to you.

    I read some of them and it would seem you are in for a grand or more if its just the valves or 3500-4500 if its the whole thing!
