I have a 2008 GranTurismo with the exact same issue. I have been ‘living’ with it for 4 years now without any real concern, but I don’t drive the car hard at all. It fluctuates from twang to knock and back again.
I would guess it is somehow caused by the spring releasing quickly under load – twang is certainly the best description.
