Ghibli - Transmission Error Message

Hi All,

First post in this forum so hopefully will get some helpefull feedback.

I have a Ghibli DV6, from 2016. Seems to drive as I would expect but I have a couple of weird issues.

1) I cannot turn off the traction control, press the button no light indicator and no mention on the dash.

2) Sometimes when I park, becoming more often, I cannot get the car out of neutral into Park. I have to wait for a few minutes then pull it backwards to go from N to R then I can push forward into P.

On the dash I get an error message along the lines of “transmission needs service. use parking brake when stopped…”

Before I spend a fortune at the dealers does anyone have any experience of these ?

I had a QP which started sending error messages and was playing up moving form Drive to Parking etc. Please note this was not a new Ghibli but you never know- I disconnected the battery for 30 mins reconnected and it all went right! My logic was a reset – the problem never came back so maybe worth a try if you haven’t already?

I also used to do a battery reset on my 3200 for all sorts of electronic issues, most of the time it solved these. I would also test your battery, our cars don’t behave well if the battery is on its way out.

If the issue still persists a diagnostic reader would be needed, however you can go to an indie and have it read first for about £80.00 if there is one near you.
