Rare Manual RHD Khamsin.
Of the 430 Khamsins produced by Maserati it is thought that only 70 were built with Right Hand Drive. This lovely example of these 4.9 litre V8 motorcars, finished in its original colour of Grigio Metallizato with Biscotto interior, is one of them; and with only 26,000 miles from new it is not only a rare motor car but is also in outstanding condition with warranted mileage and comprehensive history. Registered in September 1976 it was used sparingly by its first owner and was carefully laid up upon his retirement in 1993 and then thoroughly reconditioned by Mc Grath Maserati when it was prepared for sale in 2019. The McGrath reconditioning was both thorough and comprehensive with some £30,000 spent and a nine page account detailing the car’s condition and the work completed is in the history file. Further enhanced in my ownership with recently restored interior, rebuilt air conditioning, newly powder-coated alloy wheels and all new tyres it looks magnificent and performs exactly as it should. I am effectively only the second owner of the car which has a comprehensive history file with all the original handbooks, (still in their original envelopes) tool kit, instruction manuals, warranty book, original sales order with the importers MTC, and interesting early correspondence between the first owner and the importer. The car was recently re-united with the now 92 year old first owner (see Trident issue 142) who was able to confirm the mileage and history making this probably the lowest mileage Khamsin in the UK.
