Rosso Maserati with black leather interior and carbon fibre effect trim.

Chassis number: ZAM33600*00400204* - Engine number: 870130.

A well known, low mileage car, with a full service history (with Bill McGrath Maserati for past 6 years) including a recent full engine re-build costing £11,000.

Previously a concours winner, the car is still in good condition, has been well looked after and is a dream to drive.

My car has just had (June 2010) a full service and MOT at Bill McGrath Limited costing £2,500.

Fast and nimble, with 2 decent rear seats and boot. For such a fast car it is very easy on fuel and is one of the best of around 20 RHD examples in the UK.

Car located in Sevenoaks, Kent.

£17,950 or £18,250 with private plate.

1991 Maserati Shamal

Left hand drive - Built 1991, but registered on a UK "M" plate (1994)

Chassis number: ZAM339B00*MA300037 - Mileage: 56,000km

Colour: Rosso Maserati - Interior: Pelle Nera, with black carbon fibre inserts and Momo leather gear knob

Stainless steel replacement exhaust - Immobiliser fitted

UK Road tax paid until December 2009 - UK MOT until April 2010

#300037 has been owned by me for 3 years and only been driven in the dry. Was originally supplied in the UK by Meridien, but the car was first registered in Germany. Previously owned by a well known Maserati enthusiast and member of the UK Maserati Club.

She had a major overhaul in 2007 at Bill McGrath, and has been fully serviced since by a former Maserati main agent. I have lots of documentation, but the history is not complete. Everything is in working order, including the climate control.

Overall the car is in excellent condition, both inside and out and this will be a very sad sale.

"A Sorry Tale!"

I loved my Maserati Quattroporte and have happily driven it for the past 5 years. However, it broke down on the M40 last week and I am now totally "out of love" with it.

10 years old, left hand drive, UK registered and MOT'd, 75K Kilometres on clock.

Now at Euromotors in Sevenoaks and I am NOT going to pay to have the engine out, and then find a massive bill to get it fixed.

Does anyone want it?

Blue, white leather, usual toys.

It will probably cost £2K to fix and I am not that keen an enthusiast … someone must want it!

WARNING TO SELLERS

It has come to our attention that bogus buyers are contacting members via email, perporting to be interested in buying their cars.

These emails, mostly in broken English, offer to pay for the car without even seeing it. I understand that they often offer to send a cheque for a higher value than the car - say £30,000 for a £25,000 car. Thinking that they have sold their car, unsuspecting sellers are asked to send the bogus buyer a cheque for the difference which they can then cash within 3 or 4 days.

Unaware of what is going on, the seller will then find that the bogus buyer's cheque has bounced and this can often take up to three weeks or so one becomes aware. So the sellers are left without the car AND minus any monies forwarded to the buyer. There is also always the risk of a fake Banker's Draft which bounce.

Members may not be aware of this possible scam. It would be good to remind members that they should always insist on an electronic transfer of funds by BACS or CHAPS before parting with their beloved motors.
