26 May 2013 A Sunday Lunch in Hampshire
A locally arranged event organised by Ken Chisolm
Many people will know that Ken has been a member of The Maserati Club for many years and has owned a Vignale Spyder, a Ghibli Spyder and currently has a Mistral Spyder, which some of you will have seen, but it has been under restoration for much too long. He has also had a 4200 GT, so we know that his credentials as a Maserati enthusiast are okay.
Having been impressed by David Bracey's efforts in establishing a Kent group, he is now motivated to emulate his efforts in Hampshire. Like him, all petrol heads AND their partners would be welcome. You do not have to run a Maserati, anything interesting will be appreciated. He also plans to run a few little events as David has done.
Ken has chosen The White Horse, Priors Dean, Froxfield GU32 1 DA as the base venue as it is located in Mid-Hampshire. It is within easy reach of our Dorset, Surrey and Sussex members as well as Hampshire.
It is a little difficult to find, but its website does give a map: www.pubwithnoname.co.uk, Tel: 01420 566387.
The plan is to hold an initial lunch meet at noon on SUNDAY 26TH MAY and see what happens from there. He hopes that a few will turn up! After that, it could be the first Sunday of the month, but he is flexible on that if people would prefer an evening meet.
For any info or thoughts, please contact Ken on his email at kenchisholmOOO@btinternet.com.
9 June 2013 Maserati Club AGM and Concours
Exciting new venue for the Maserati Club AGM and Concours
For 2013, this popular club event moves to a new venue, the scenic Gloucestershire home of Prescott Hillclimb. This event is open to all club members and their families and includes the Annual General Meeting, the Club Concours and also an opportunity to drive the famous hill.

Prescott has been at the forefront of British Hillclimbing for almost 80 years now and is the home of the Bugatti Owner’s Club. We are sharing the venue with the Jaguar E-type Club, which allows us to offer the event and the hillclimb at a very competitive price.
Graypaul have supported our event at Stanford Hall for the last eight years and we are delighted to announce that they will continue to sponsor our Concours event at this new and exciting location. Imagine a summer’s day on the Prescott Estate, enjoying the rolling acres of green and dappled sun in the orchard combined with the smell of hot motor oil and polish, the feel of warm tarmac and the sound of a well-tuned engine!
However, before we get too carried away, first the AGM:
THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM will be held at 10.45am on Sunday morning in the restaurant at the top of the hillclimb paddock. This is open to all members and their partners. There is no charge for attending the AGM but the chief organiser would be grateful for an indication of numbers attending this part of the day when you book your parking.
GRAYPAUL MASERATI CLUB CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE 2013
Our ex-chairman Brian Harris couldn’t keep away for long and is now our enthusiastic new Concours organiser and chief judge. The Concours will be run along traditional lines with five classes for different eras of Maserati and OSCA cars competing for class honour and then for the overall Maserati GB trophy. If you’ve never tried the Concours before, it is actually great fun and you might find that your polished beauty does better than you might think!
The judging panel will be a mixture of Maserati experts, motoring journalists and style gurus and they will spend the morning checking and squinting and tweaking and prodding to produce the winners.
If you wish to enter the Concours then you will have to pay the parking charge but there is no specific charge for the Concours itself. You will however have to be on display (you and car!) at 9.00am ! Pre-booking for the event is preferable to help Brian’s workload !

THE HILLCLIMB
The chance to pit your Maserati against the twists and turns of this famous hill is a rare opportunity and on the day, members can buy a package of five runs (non-timed) for a bargain price of £30 for drivers and an extra £5 for passengers.
The hillclimb course will be open from 10am to 4.00pm closing for lunch between 1.00pm and 2.00pm. Drivers and their passengers will have to attend briefings and sign indemnity forms etc.
This option is open to all members driving Maserati or OSCA cars. If you wish to enter your car then pre-booking is essential with the Chief Organiser, Michael O’Shea.

Parking should be pre-booked with the Chief Organiser, Michael O’Shea and is part of the same booking form as above. You can download an AGM parking and Hillclimb driver booking form from the club website.
LUNCH
The restaurant at Prescott will be open from 12.30 serving a variety of lunches. No pre-booking is necessary, just pay on the day. Another outlet selling snacks is also located near the start line. Alternatively, bring a picnic!
HOTEL ACCOMODATION
While the club is not offering a formal hotel package this year and this is a one day event, members may wish to stay locally and club member Teresa Lerry, based in the area, is offering advice and recommendations for hotels and B&B to suit all pockets.
