26-29 April 2012 Cameron Millar Spring Meeting 2012 - Wexford, Ireland
FULLY BOOKED - If you want to put your name down on the reserve list please email Roger Epsztajn at roger@epsztajn.co.uk.
Preparations for the Club's 40th anniversary celebratory Spring Meeting continue apace! The 4 star Ferrycarrig Hotel, perfectly located just outside Wexford in Ireland's "Sunny South East" will be the base for our 4-night rally. All of the rooms reserved for us look out over the lovely River Slaney and a spa awaits those in need of pampering!
A varied programme includes: a morning at Mondello Park (Ireland's principal race track); a chance to visit VISUAL (the modern arts centre in Carlow designed by the high priest of minimalism, Terry Pawson); road tours around the beautiful water dominated scenery of the locale; a Concours judged by the public on the rebuilt and pedestrianised Wexford quay side; and a visit to the charming medieval city of Kilkenny where we will display our cars on the castle parade with another chance for the public to be our judges. As for victuals, don't fret: coffee stops in interesting places; lunches in Irish pubs; evening dining with fine food and wine; a little art and music thrown in; and a champagne reception hosted by Wexford Town in their jewel of an opera house. The gala dinner on the final night will present an opportunity to dust off those "hotel shoes" and glam up.
Bill McGrath Limited will sponsor our Mondello Park track event, giving us the opportunity to remember Bill McGrath, an Irishman, who gave us the courage and the confidence to use our cars as actively as we do today. Bill McGrath Ltd is also sending along one of their top technicians to ride shotgun with us, while Bolands of Wexford (leading local concessionary) is providing a breakdown and recovery vehicle. In other words, there is no excuse not to bring your classic.
Mark Guterres and his The Imperial Wine Co. are generously donating the wine for the Gala Reception and three of our dinners. I am sure that many of you will remember the wonderful wine they gave us for our own International Rally based at Goodwood. Yet again our friends at Meridian Modena are generously supporting our event.
The rally cost will include: 4 nights' accommodation including breakfast; 3 mid-morning coffee stops; track event entry; museum entry; 3 lunches; 3 pre-dinner receptions; 4 dinners including wine and much else.
The cost for the rally is £540 per person based on 2 people sharing a room. There will be a single room supplement of £85. A couple of suites and 4 junior suites will also be available for additional cost. Additional accommodation before or after the rally is available (at the Ferrycarrig Hotel) @ £115 per night, bed & breakfast with 2 people sharing a room, or £95 for a single room, preferably booked at the same time as the rally booking.
Kelly's Resort Hotel & Spa (in Rosslare) have also offered a special rate of 6110 dinner, bed & breakfast, per person per night for both before and after our rally. For f50 extra this will also include 1 hr of Spa treatment.
Irish Ferries are providing us with a special rate starting at £176 return (1 car, 2 adults) for mid week travel on their cruise ships (3 to 3.5hr crossings) using the Pembroke/Rosslare or Holyhead/Dublin Port routes. Saturday travel, fast ferry travel (2 hrs on the Holyhead/Dublin route), Club Class, cabins etc are also available at additional cost. Instructions will be issued with the booking information. Those wishing to use another route, for example the Stranraer/Belfast route, are free to organise this themselves.
As the response has been overwhelming with 64 teams already expressing interest, the rally will now be for up to 50 cars (beyond the original 35 to 40 suggested). The first 40 teams to have registered interest with me will be contacted first by email for booking, and this will begin around the end of November 2011. Approximately 10 days will be allowed for these bookings and deposits, with the remaining places offered by email to those who have already registered their interest with me. These places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If email contact really does not work for you contact me directly for alternative arrangements. Classics will be especially welcome as they help to make our rally more varied as well as looking good.
For more information or to register an interest please contact (email preferably)

3 June 2012 Graypaul Maserati Club Concours d'Elegance - Stanford Hall
We are delighted to announce that once again the Club has the full support of our long-term sponsors GRAYPAUL for this year’s Concours D’Elegance at Stanford Hall as part of the Auto Italia Italian Car Day on Sunday 3rd June.
This year is definitely my last Concours as organiser as I am getting even rougher around the edges, but by popular demand and still in the arduous role of Vice President, I am pleased to have one last final flourish.
Richard of Storer Smith will be catering for lunch as usual as well as providing a pay bar for drinks and coffee as well as those excellent bacon rolls. Our friends from the Ferrari Owner’s Club may join us but with a limited turnout as a result of other commitments.
Booking entry forms for the Concours and Lunch will be available in the spring issue of Newsletter, as well as booking forms for the Club AGM.
We want the best entries ever with a special prize for the ‘Best of Show’ from previous Winners. This will probably be the last Stanford Hall Concours so let’s make it a very memorable event.

Cars started arriving to be lined up, with non-Maseratis tucked away at the rear, from approximately 12 noon. There was a champagne reception on arrival, followed by Vera's magnificent selection of food served from 1 pm.

29 April - 1 May 2011 Cameron Millar Spring Meeting
Maseratis go Mad in Dorset
FULLY BOOKED !!
The Cameron Millar Spring Meeting of 2011 was held in beautiful Dorset, based at the Springfield Country Hotel just outside Wareham.
The principal sponsor of the event was Meridien-Modena based in Lyndhurst.
The relaxing spa hotel was sited within modest but pretty grounds. Whilst the swimming pool and spa bath were set within a conservatory setting, for those more energetic there was a fully equipped gym, squash courts and an outside tennis court. The hotel could arrange golf on nearby courses and even had its own private fishing lake located a short distance away. For those just wanting to be pampered the Spa offered a wide range of treatments for men and women to help relax or invigorate. And for the less competitive there was even the option of a late night frame of snooker on three full size tables.
The programme of events was as follows:
Following arrival on the Friday afternoon, members checked into their hotel rooms and received their meeting information. There was time to relax and prepare to meet friends old and new at the early evening drinks reception followed by dinner in the hotel and use of an exclusive lounge bar afterwards.
Saturday morning following breakfast, members were presented with a collection of route map and local quiz details before setting off 'up on the range' for some fantastic views. The drive illustrated why the Purbeck Hills are so special, before dropping down to the heathland to visit to the Bovington Tank Museum. Fresh from its £16 million refurbishment and reopened by the Queen in 2009, this museum is now one of the most visited places in Dorset; with cutting edge exhibitions including the world's first tank, reconstructions of trenches and engaging exhibitions showcasing the tank's story from 1915 to the present day.
Members enjoyed a splendid fork buffet lunch and were then treated to a private tour of the collection, and even had time for a quiz question or two. Those who wanted to, were invited to stay as long as they liked, before returning to enjoy the leisure/spa facilities of the hotel, or to explore the rich heritage and attractions of the area: Lulworth Cove, Lulworth Castle, Swanage Steam railway, Corfe Castle, Lawrence of Arabia's Cottage, Thomas Hardy's birthplace, Monkey World, Athelhampton House, the beaches of Studland ...
An evening drinks reception was followed by a gala dinner giving participating members the opportunity to relive the day's activities and enjoy some fine Dorset hospitality.
Breakfast on Sunday was followed by a drive through some traditional inland Dorset villages and then over Cranbourne Chase before stopping for coffee at a local attraction. The drive continued through more stunning Dorset scenery before finishing at Les Bouviers restaurant near Wimbourne for a convivial lunch and prize giving.
The meeting was organised by Graham and Jacky Woods.

22-24 July 2011 Silverstone Classic 2011
Once again the Club displayed a splendid array of Maseratis of all ages, thanks once again to the members who attended.
According to media coverage, records were broken at the 2011 Silverstone Classic. Although the Maserati Club can't take the credit it was good to be part of it! With a total of 1104 race entries and more than 8000 classic cars on display, the 2011 Silverstone Classic not only lived up to its claim of being the The World's Biggest Classic Racing Festival' but also laid claim to being by far the biggest race meeting ever staged in international motor racing history.
The entire Silverstone site was taken over by an amazing array of competition cars spanning the decades, classic car displays and parades, a mass of different entertainment attractions and activities for the entire family, capped by music concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon. Both the National and new Silverstone Wing pits and paddocks were crammed with the world's finest historic racing cars for what is believed to have been the biggest number of race entries ever recorded for a single race meeting held anywhere on the globe.

7 August 2011 Summer Garden Party
The Dering Arms
Pluckley
Ashford
While the guests tucked into fine fare of chicken, beef, fish and salads, a Jazz Band provided the afternoon's entertainment.
What a perfect setting for Club members to catch up with Club news and social chat, not forgetting the kicking of tyres in the car park where stood a sparkling display of Masers old and new. The party was held outside on the pretty village green and we were blessed with dry, warm conditions.
This year the event benefitted from the generous support from the local Maserati Dealer, Gialo.
A big "thank you" to Jim and Penny for all their hard work and hope we shall see more new faces at next year's event.

22-25 September 2011 International Maserati Meeting
Seefeld, Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria
Open to all types of Maseratis, De Tomasos and OSCAs, this year's Maserati International was hosted by the Maserati Club of Austria. One of the smaller clubs compared to others in Europe, they are to be congratulated on staging a very successful event, with well over 100 cars attending the event.
The members of our Club who were fortunate enough to take part enjoyed a very friendly and well organised event.
Congratulations to all concerned.

If you are new to the club then coming to an event is a great way of using your car whether it be a classic, a Biturbo era machine or one of what is now know as a modern Maserati - a Quattroporte IV or a 3200GT, or the latest Quattroporte, GranTurismo or GranCabrio. You can be assured that the older (in all senses) members will go out of their way to make you welcome and, if you have any questions or are unsure of the protocol (there isn't really any) then give us a ring on +44 (0)1494 717 701 as we're always happy to talk things through.
