    Vera's Lunch

Magna Carta Island, Wraysbury

Vera's LunchALL TICKETS SOLD

Once again, the Club's traditional opening social event of the year took place at the home of Vera Cooper. This is very popular event amongst Club members, and always hugely over-subscribed. With numbers limited to a maximum of 80 persons, it came as no surprise that the event sold out.

Cars usually start arriving to be paraded in front of Vera's house from 12 noon, with non-Maseratis tucked away at the rear. A champagne reception greets members on arrival and Vera's magnificent selection of food served from 1.00 pm. This year the cost was £20.00 per person, with reservations accepted on a first come first served basis.

        Silverstone Classic 2010

Following the success of last year's event and buoyed on by the news of the Grand Prix staying there, Silverstone is pulling out all the stops for 2010. This promises to be a fantastic weekend of racing and club displays. The Club intends to have its usual centre circuit display and of course that means we are on the lookout for a few really special cars to help promote the marque.

In addition, we intend to offer a complete weekend package including hotel accommodation at The Bell in Winslow.

As per last year, Edwin Faulkner, ejf@manx.net, will be running the display stand and Andy Heywood, andy@classicmaseratis.co.uk, the hotel.

        International Maserati Meeting

Båstad, SwedenInternational Maserati Meeting Sweden 2010

Over 400 kilometres of sandy beaches and big, beautiful national parks. Fields of yellow rape, deep green forests and beautiful golfcourses. Peaceful country life and grand city vistas.

Skåne, the southernmost part of Sweden, is no ordinary Swedish region. Its small area offers big experiences. Skåne’s Swedish soil and soul are intriguingly influenced by its vicinity to the continent and its Danish history. But a visit to Skåne is more. Mention Skåne and people immediately think of food. The region has a long history of delicious cooking and skilled chefs thanks to the plentiful supply of quality natural ingredients. Swedish herring, eel and goose are just a few examples of the rich variety of authentic dishes served at restaurants all over Skåne. However, you'll also find more modern, creative cooking inspired by all four corners of the world.

Skåne is not one thing or another. Skåne is both. In other words, Skåne is a perfect surrounding for your beautiful Maserati.

        Classic Motor Show

    NEC, BirminghamClassic Motor Show 2009

Following on from their success in 2009, Peter Holmes and Jim Hunt have very kindly agreed to continue their good work by organising the Maserati Club stand for 2010.

The theme and content remain a closely guarded secret but if 2009 was anything to go by, it promises to be exciting.

Once again Peter and Jim will be asking for volunteers to help steward the stand, and further details will be published in our Newsletter and on this site as soon as they become available.

REMEMBER, YOU'LL ALWAYS BE MADE WELCOME!

If you are new to the club then coming to an event is a great way of using your car whether it be a classic, a Biturbo era machine or one of what is now know as a modern Maserati - a Quattroporte IV or a 3200GT, or the latest Quattroporte, GranTurismo or GranCabrio. You can be assured that the older (in all senses) members will go out of their way to make you welcome and, if you have any questions or are unsure of the protocol (there isn't really any) then give us a ring on +44 (0)1494 717 701 as we're always happy to talk things through.
